yh i looked into this aether is just a mod the official version is called the sky demension and so far notch has not mentioned any new mobs that would appear there so the aether mods mobs are their own creatures, and its also mentioned that notch may call it dream world and you go there by sleeping. but anyway aether is not a mod that accesses the unfinished sky dimension but an entirely different place added by the mod(and possibly the inspiration of the sky dimension). Edit: the wiki claims the locked away unfinshed sky dimension has been there since 1.6 so it has not been there since the nether was created so if the aether mod was around before then then it's definately not the unfinshed sky dimension and the new mobs in it arent going to be in the sky dimension either.
The aether is just a mod; if it becomes something Notch will add as an official part of Minecraft, then I'll consider making textures for it.
Uploaded the fixed version of the cake. Why he would move the texture down, i have no idea. Oh well. Redownload, since I uploaded it to dropbox with the same name.
There's a bit of a weird, I guess, bug? The torches are sort of "bleeding white" on the edges of its frames. Using a Mac right now to play it and I have forced update and repatched, but it's still there. Am I doing something wrong?
School work is finally catching up to me... sorry to say, from now on, I don't have the time to update this pack; if anyone wants to continue it, go for it. Just take the latest download and make it 1.8 compatible. I can post it up front if you want to, and it won't go to the adf.ly link. But for now, this pack is DISCONTINUED until further notice.
Ok, This week, I'm going to be super busy, doing IOPS and all that kind of crap (IB Stuff), so if anyone has new textures they made for 1.8, please send them to me so i can add them into the coming update. Thank you for your support!
I've been following this pack on and off since Soulscribe first put it out there, I'd be glad to work on a 1.8 update. Also, I still have the maps required for GLSL shading for this pack, if I play around with them and get them working for 1.8(as long as the GLSL shader mod is up to date) I'll let you know.

My RezFX terrain.png has a few alternatives from the original RexFX terrain.png. I'm going to be using my terrain as the base for the 1.8 textures, I can post screenshots of new textures as I work on them, then add those new 1.8 textures to the RezFX terrain.png if people are alright with them. If people like my alternatives you have my permission to add them to the Alternatives folder, FXStrato.
Of course. I can take both your's and mine and sort them out to what i seem best; the rest will go into the Alteranatives folder for those who would like something new.
As for the textures you have:
1. White birch seems to abstract; like it's floating off the ground (cause the ground is dark, and the tree looks kinda out of place. :>)
2. Glass is more visible, but looks a little to thick on the edges.
3. Bookshelf is interesting; havent seen that kind of color scheme. Might be for better visibility?
4. Old obisidian is fine if you think it fits better.
I'm trying to figure out what i need to exactly work on, since I've been trying to update terrain.png first.. :[ Takes a while when you have to study as well.
Last night I went through my terrain.png and labeled all the areas where new content is and labeled what content (roughly). I used bright single colors for ease of removal for transparencies. I can post it if you'd like, that way we can both work on things and maybe even come up with different ideas for the alternatives folder.
If you haven't got a list already I know a fair amount of the added textures: Ok we got melon blocks, melon the food, melon seeds, pumpkin seeds, vines, pumpkin/melon vines, Stone brick (Mossy/cracked), stone brick stairs and half slabs, brick stairs, endermen, cave spiders, giant mushrooms of both colors, crit sparkles, void sparkles, water bubbles, Pulling back bow texture, iron bars, glass panes (I don't know if they have a custom texture off of glass...), fence gates. Thats all I know of and I hope I helped and didn't just spam up the place :sad.gif:
