I may simply be a simpleton, but all i am getting is a .jar from the dl... i read through the op and it seems to tell me to use this one like the previous patchers, but this is not an .exe, an i cannot run it as such... again, possibly just stupid... but... halp

for some reason my modified version of the Gerudoku pack isn't working. It shows up in the texture pack list but it is grayed out and nothing happens if I select it. But if I use the one I got from the forum it works fine :-/ Any suggestions?
did you zip the files in a folder?
Yes, I compressed the folder into a .zip file.
you aren't supposed to compress it in a folder.. just whats in the root with the terrain.png
when i open mcpatcher it throughs me an error

close minecraft or if closed open task manager and make sure javaw isn't running in the processes tab

Im not sure I understand what you mean. I have the folder that has everything in it like terrain.png, gui folder, etc...
and then I compress it into a .zip. Is that not what your supposed to do?
compress everything..just not the folder it is in.. like..select everything inside the folder and compress it.. or d/l one of mine and look at how it's done...

double click the .jar file..doesn't need instructions a .jar is an executable format
I'm getting a weird issue with this patcher. After I run the patcher all of my wooden planks appear as sponges...
It seems like everything is installed fine, I'm able to select from the Default texture as well as Gerudoku and Jolicraft, and everything comes up okay except for the wood...
Texture packs show up okay:
It shows a block of wood gets crafted into a sponge:
My wooden house is now made of sponges:
When I unpatch minecraft all of the "sponges" correctly come back up as wooden planks again.
Edit: I want to add that this bug affects any texture including the default, so it's not the texture pack that is causing it.

I have just spent the last 30+ minutes trying to find something to let me use more than one HD texture pack and the default one, I finally was referred to this one and before I patched the pack it had an awesome fire but it was not animated, I patched it and the fire was animated but it was the old (slightly retarded) one. I don't know what is going on and I need some help,

with some packs the redstone just is a red (when powered) or black (unpowered) (flat) tile (just as it got black (or red) grass) i got this with painterly pack, i patched because i always use Glimmar's steampunk, but i wanted to try if you just could (without bugs like this one) switch back to another texture pack with (i.e.) 16x16 instead of 32x32. this doesn't matter to me but i don't like it has bugs.
the redstone..that's not a glitch... blame notch for reprogramming redstone to work that way.. and you CAN switch from one size pack to another
I just forced an update of minecraft to make sure my mods were gone and I had a clean install of minecraft. I still cannot get the patcher to work. It keeps telling me that I have an older version or one that is already modded.

delete your bin folder and re-download..might help
I figured out the crash with certain texture packs...Basico is the one that made me realize it... if the pack.zip has an alternate terrain file in it..it will crash..if you remove that file it works perfectly
and.. you never really specified what the glsl fix is.. still hoping you worked out the patcher recognizing the nh/s files so they don't have to be changed manually every time.

Curse Premiumthe redstone..that's not a glitch... blame notch for reprogramming redstone to work that way.. and you CAN switch from one size pack to another
