Yes, i know - there is a risk of repeating with side grass blocks.
I thought, it would be nice to have side-grass blocks who are looking different from dirt blocks.
The most side blocks look like the dirt block with a little grass on top.
But i think, as long as they tile good, the side blocks could be nearly without dirt and instead designed with something else - e.g. roots^^
Man, all this looks terrible wrong written.
English is not my native language, so please oversee mistakes, as long as you know what i mean^^
I had no problem understing, and I'm not native English either and surely make a lot of mistakes. :wink.gif:
I'll certainly improve the side grass texture someday, with your suggestion in mind.

edit: after installing the pack my water looks much darker than in the screenshots. Can anyone help? I like the lighter look.
This is normal, the water texture on the screenshot came from JohnSmith's pack but I didn't put it in mine so what you have for now is the default minecraft texture until I've made one myself , sorry. I'll try to make it next week. I've been postponing it until now cause I've never done animations, I fear the work involved. :smile.gif:

Oooo, very nice.
I just wish I had a good enough computer to play this on Fancy.
+1 ! I don't have a better one, I'm activating Fancy graphics only to take screenshots. :ohmy.gif:(

Just wanted to share that the cobblestone in this pack has become my hands down favorite in any pack I've yet to see or use. I feel a nice looking cobblestone is a very important piece of a texture pack, and you have done a wonderful job! On the other side of the fence, I want to say that the smooth stone looks too cobbled to me and maybe it should be a bit smoother looking? I know you are going for a natural rustic look, but the smooth stone in a way looks a bit like the default cobblestone, which is strange to me. Just an opinion keep up the good work!
I know it has been discussed before but could you make the glass a bit more clean?
I have tried to think of another look but couldn't really find something. Maybe erase the diagonal sticks and/or make the pointers (I think you can call it that?) in the corners into some kind of spirals?
Just my oppinion :smile.gif: But you're making a really good job ^-^
Still can't wait for the final result.
I actually really like the glass how it is now with the wood cross sticks. I'm ok with alt textures but please keep this one!
Small update, I'm not very happy with most of what I've done here but that's still better than nothing...
Finally chose to use Johnsmith's water & lava textures until I do them myself.
Enjoy !
New:
- Mossy cobblestone
- Brick
- Flowers (I'll change them someday, don't like what I've done)
- Mushrooms
- Sugar cane
- Lapis lazuli
- Snow & ice (quick placeholders)
- Water & lava by JohnSmith with his kind approval
Changed:
- Glass
@Jajunk: I've put the old glass texture in an /Alternate textures/ folder inside the zip

Can't wait to check out the new stuff. I have a question about updating my minecraft when using an HD texture pack though. Do I just use the HD patcher again and it will overwrite? Will this affect my other installed mods? Basically do I always need to start from a fresh minecraft.jar when installing or updating an HD texture pack?
Please post your questions about the HD patcher thread on its dedicated thread. :wink.gif:
I'm using the Linux version which seemingly has glitches. For me it erases previously installed mods so I start with a fresh minecraft.jar each time I patch, and apply this patch first. But again, I think it may just be an issue with the linux version.

HOLY CRAP-MY-PANTS i love it and i really cant wait :biggrin.gif: keep the updates coming i am sure i can pass this round to a few people :tongue.gif: so far so good PLEASE keep it coming!
I've been looking around for Texture packs, time to get rid of the outdated Faithful 32bit and move on to better things. I'm rather picky about still looking like Minecraft and this follows the theme admirably while changing the pieces that needed change. I'm Bookmarking and eagerly awaiting a finalized version (if you already released one I didn't see in on the OP and no, I did not read every single post I suck).
New:
- Wool
- Wild grass (for the mod of the same name)
- Sandstone
- Clay
- Birch tree
- Pine tree
- Soul sand
Changed:
- Sign
- Sugar cane
Enjoy ! :biggrin.gif:
I'll setup donations soon I think, as this is taking me a lot of time, and I'd gladly replace some of my freelance webdesign work with work on this pack if I could afford it. Working on Minecraft textures and being payed by the community, that, would be awesome !! This will be an interesting experiment.

Next update in a few days will include wool (finally !), sandstone, clay and (if not taking too long) wild grass !
Check the first post for screenshots

Check out my texture pack
Definitely set up a donations button too, I'm sure a decent number of people will go after that if it means faster updates.
