Secondly, is the snow itself (not the side of snow blocks) a finished product?? All of your other blocks have such detail whereas I feel the snow is lackluster. My intention is not to offend, but, it doesn't seem to fit with the rest of your style.
I didn't want snow to lose its visual power.
Much like water, I figured if I covered it in intricate little designs it wouldn't look nearly as interesting when you come across a massive expanse of it covering a tremendous amount of the landscape.
So just like water, snow is mostly just a solid slightly darker stripe of it's own color. I may change it later on if I get tired of it, but I like the stripes currently so chances are I will not!
Also I'm uploading a newer version of the pack in a few minutes here because I noticed I put wolf tails upside down in the last version and I've had it fixed for about a day now and never bothered to update the links.
The wolves!!! Be awesome!!!
Too bad the one wolf I found decided to dance with a creeper... R.I.P Dogmeat :'(
Yeah I've decided to give up trying to tame one until they get smarter. I've seen too many of people's wolves jump face first into lava. They seem to actually be more suicidal than other mobs. Even pigs, which seem the dumbest, dont fling themselves off cliffs like the wolves do.
Someone replace their sound effects with someone shrieking KILLMEITHURTSTOLIVE
in other news check out my gorgeous mansion made in a vanilla SMP server!
Made entirely out of stolen materials from other houses!
It's ok to be jealous.

OMG cudd u put mor pics of da houz?? i wanna c it from othr angls n copy it!!!one!1!
No, but seriously, that house is pretty L3G1T!!! Looks beastin' :biggrin.gif:
I think tame wolves have some super secret evil plan though... Why else would they commit mass lava suicide?
I am almost speechless by how utterly superb this pack is. Seriously, its a dilemma, i found it hard to write this post from the 'stun-like' effect of its awesomeness.
The only thing that is remotely displeasing is the GUI. Its just a tad hard to see at times. I went to adjust and customize the pack like i have many others in months past since i started playing. But i found my self feeling like it was sacrilege to do any kind of 'tweaking' to this pack.
This is the most well thought out pack i have seen. Everything from the style, the colors, the synergy, just wow. I was blown away by your Achievements UI. Your creativity has set a high standard for what i will judge texture packs that's for sure. And i just happen to see your sig i think from a post on a diff tread, glad i did. Thank you for all your hard work.
PS - lol Laughed my ass off reading all your posts.
Love your texture pack, It's making me happy :biggrin.gif: The grass and wild grass support is amazing!!
The only downside is that I find the HUD and qui too busy and aconfusing.
Edit: may you update the wild grass support?
Update it with what? Did they change something in wildgrass? I skimmed the painfully confusing first post of the mod thread and saw something about vines, and tiny cactuses and biome flowers or summat in there. I know not what vines are or where they go in the main png for that matter!
If someone could explain it to me so I don't have to go through the 60+ pages of that thread, I'm sure I could whip something up! Lord knows I have no life.
Or maybe I'll just ask the guy who makes Painterly. He and I talked via email before and he was a very kind chap.
If wildgrass has changed alot, I haven't noticed. Modloader, wildgrass, and alot of other neat toys people have made on this forum cause my game to crash constantly. Even though I follow the instructions. Dashing my dreams like some metaphorical thing. There's no way to fix it either. :C

Thanks. I'm not 100% pleased with the bottom-of-the-screen GUI myself. I'll probably end up redoing somewhat whenever Notch updates the game with rain and snow.
I've been thinking of making it one big solid stripe that goes across the bottom of the screen with a sort of tribal stripey design going across. Sort of like this.
Speaking of, I need to make my water effects more turqoise in color so they match with the rest of the pack.
And sadly, although I had alot of fun with the achievements UI, it looks like the big black box that I painted to look like a treasure map is actually a "hole" which means my map is going to cover the icons that represent achievements. So it will be a map that actually covers what you are looking for. The polar opposite of what maps are supposed to do. So I'll probably have to scrap it all and redo it. But I won't know til the update is out and I can properly test it and see what works and what doesn't work.
But I'll wait til the next update before I end up fiddle faddlin with any of that sort of stuff.
Another thing I want to do is customize the sun and moon a bit more.
I've been thinking alot about making the sun look like a giant gleaming compass rose in the sky.
And maybe making the moon look a bit like this moon however that might perhaps be too creepy.
Yea that tribal/native texture is really nice. Something like that with a complimentary 'highlight' icon would look great.
Sad to hear about the achievements UI. I'm sure what ever you decide to do with it will look great.
I also wondered what the rest of the textures would look like if you tackled them. The sun. moon, and paintings. So i am stoked to hear about your sun/moon plans.
I'm sure you are already aware of these, but i thought these links might interest you.
Cool voodoo doll dog/wolf. some other nice ones if you haven't already seen them. I can just picture all the mobs in a cool zekey 'stitched' motif. viewtopic.php?f=1021&t=264955
And here is a lil snip of the new wildgrass textures. they are just right below the lilypad.

I'm most likely never going to edit the paintings. Mainly because it gets confusing when something that meant to be one thing for someone is different for someone else in SMP. That statement made no sense but I'm sticking by it.
Its why I didnt change yellow flowers into green ones or anything too off.

Alright so just so I know what I'm looking at here is correct:
in between the lillypad and the tallest grass (the one that is 2 blocks high) are two halfblock plants.
The top one is what I assume to be a new shorter version of grass for dry biomes? Or is it some new grassy thing entirely?
Under it, the pink thing, is.....I'm not sure. What is that pink flower and where does it usually go in the maps? Is that the new lillypad flower? It's smaller now I assume?
The small cactus is obviously a So that's one's obvious.
Under the cactus is a tall red flower. I'm not sure which biome it generally sits on top of.
Yellow flower to the right of it.
That's meant to be the tree vine I suppose to the right of the new yellow flower, which will hang down from tree bottoms.
Under the red flower is a new lavender flower. It's quite purpley but I know not where it goes in the great biome schema.
The most mysterious one is whatever flower is to the right of the purple ones. It's like tiny flowers but they have no stems. In fact I'm going to make a guess they are a decal that end up sitting flat on something. Grass or leaves maybe.
I can start editing these into my terrain, but it'd be helpful to know what each one is so I save myself a bit of trial and error.
Then I can install Wildgrass, get some screenshots before minecraft crashes again, and then uninstall it. Yay, progress!
This pack is awesome! Its everything a flat-pack should be but better!!

So after some tinkering with wildgrass installed minecraft, i think i have an understanding of the new textures.
You were pretty much 'dead-on' with your assessment. All the new textures are what each flower or rose looks like in there respective biomes when grown or planted.
To the right of the lily is 2 textures (in one box), dry desert grass and the flower for the lily. When you plant a rose in the water, it shows the lily pad with flower and when you plant yellow flower in water it shows just lily. The tiny grass texture is the desert yellow flower i think.
Below the lily is your desert rose. Loved the Sting link btw lol. The 2 directly below the desert rose are the jungle, first, and then the meadow version of the red rose. And the texture to the right of the jungle rose and the meadow rose are their yellow flower counterparts. And you already know the one to the right of the jungle flower is the vine.
Absolutely, amazing looking. Rare to find a texture pack that actually adds an artistic approach and not just different "realistic textures". Downloading now. Thanks!
So yeah, I dragged and drop the files from the modloader folder from wildgrass into the minecraft.jar. I deleted the META-INF and then I noticed something. There is a META-INF in the texture pack
Do I have to delete that? I dont know how because when I open it and delete it. The open the texture pack zip again, it comes back. Soooo, what do I do?

Yea you are gona need to get rid of that MetaINF if you want to use mods. Be sure to use a file compression manager like winzip or 7zip. The author didnt know what to take out or leave in.

I didn't know what to delete and what not to delete.
I fear deleting things as I don't like breaking the game. Which is ironic because my minecraft is currently so broken I can't even play it. Even when I download a new .jar!
Figures, eh?
