I'm sure this has probably been asked but is there any plans on updating any of your other resource packs. With the Halloween and Christmas holidays coming up, I miss the old days of being able to use your Spooky and Winter versions of your graphics. I still have the old versions but they no longer work on current Minecraft versions.

Just noticed that you included alternate widgets in the pack, which lets me use the old version of the menu buttons and hotbar! That's super neat. I also noticed that there was a variant with the old menu buttons and new hotbar, but not one with the new menu buttons and the old (read: crazy squares) hotbar. I think that might be a nice thing to add to the pack.
This is much more minor, since the alternate GUI is so obscure, but I noticed there's no alternate accessibility icon to go along with the old style menus.
Also, if Spooky Jolicraft ever makes a return, I think it would be super neat to have something like this creepy head from the early days of the pack:
make a return as a random variant of the ghasts.
EDIT: Also noticed that the buttons on the server browser don't visually line up with where they're clickable. To show you what I mean:
if you can find me the old spooky mobs files i'll throw them into the halloween pack when i work on it, i have been updating it myself and posting it here for a while now as an addon to the main pack
if you can find me the old spooky mobs files i'll throw them into the halloween pack when i work on it, i have been updating it myself and posting it here for a while now as an addon to the main pack
Turns out those old versions of the ghasts were made available through the jolicraft customizer. The site itself is gone, but thankfully it was archived.
And, in case you were looking for the old variants of the chickens for your add-on, I have those right here as well.
<-(really like this duck)
EDIT: Noticed one last missing texture in the pack. The custom texture for redstone wires doesn't seem to load in properly. Right now when you lay down redstone dust it's just the default textures.

Found a way to download the images for the old ghast textures from that page, by viewing the page source and pasting the links to the images into the wayback machine. Thankfully it wasn't a lot of work to convert them into working textures, just had to scale them down by a factor of 3. Also went ahead and fixed an issue I found with the bottom of the creepy head ghast. I've attached the textures below for anyone who wants to mess around with them.
i already converted them, but thank you. i'm currently in the process of updating the pack though it has quite a lot that needs to be done to bring it up to par. so far i have done the new mooshrooms, beds, new stone/dirt, reworked GUIs, updated some of the newer block states, redid nether blocks(it was way too bright and cheery for a spooky pack) and have been working to make it all coherent with newer terrain blocks
so far what i still need to do is update/repair biome colors, modify bookshelves, spook-ify newer types of foliage, redo the glass, fix villagers and any other gaps i can't use regular jolicraft stuff for
i also had an idea of turning parrots into ravens/crows i wish to explore

Yes, thank you for keeping these up to date! If there's anything simple I can help with let me know, I'm pretty quick at doing the actual textures, it's just the technical side of things that slows me down :/
EDIT: Noticed one last missing texture in the pack. The custom texture for redstone wires doesn't seem to load in properly. Right now when you lay down redstone dust it's just the default textures.
as always you need to load it on top of regular jolicraft, it's not supposed to be used by itself
notes:
glass is unfinished, ignore it
villagers are wearing the halloween masks from old joliween plus newly made ones
biome colors are wonky still, haven't gotten a palette i'm happy with yet
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
a list of specific blocks i need was going to do myself are:
a few types of broken windows, for randomizing, i'm using block states to make them as a "pillar" so the top/bottom are fixed(looks nicer in builds) with the sides broken
spookier looking bamboo because it's kinda bright and happy looking right now despite the jungles being dark
3 more "spooky" bookshelf variations so it can randomize like the ones in the regular pack, there's already 1, i just need a few more so they match
spooky berry bushes for taiga biomes
i'm not super happy with most of spooky flowers i put together before and want to try remaking some of them(lilac, peony, rose bush, tall grass, large fern) i was going to swap out a couple flowers with older joli textures for variety too. the normal flowers aren't spooky enough for the theme and i didn't do a great job making most of them
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
i have a large number of very old "lost" jolicraft textures not on the customizer that i have been repurposing where i can, and ideas for some extra pack features
not super happy with biome colors right now, grass turns strange colors in certain places, tree color doesn't have enough variety
i'm trying to make the foliage and grass have more widely varied autumn colors, there's a bit TOO much orange i think, it gets overpowering when everything is orange, i'd like a mix of yellow, gold, orange, red and brown, i'm going to play around with it a bit later on
i want to have every "natural" spawn to have a spooky look and not be super bright and cheerful, like nightmare before christmas, just because everyone is happy and cheery doesn't mean they look that way
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
things i'd like to add that aren't important(i don't really do well at making mob textures):
turn polar bears into black bears, spooky monster bears with red eyes, pandas could be changed too but i'm not sure how, maybe wearing a grizzly bear mask? like a halloween costume of a meaner bear
more dark and spooky looking foxes
parrots into various kinds of crow/raven with matching sounds - bonus: crows/ravens also imitate sounds like parrots do

Really wish Mojang would put out some sort of specific changelog whenever they do stuff like renaming the texture files or moving them to another folder. Would make things so much less of a headache for resource pack makers.
i have had a lovely little stomach virus interrupt my work and haven't been able to get much done the last few days, so i went and fixed the more immediate issues just so i can get it out of the way

I'll spend some time with it early Oct to add some more new stuff and get it ready to share. Thanks so much for your excellent work! It's sometimes hard to keep regular Jolicraft up to date when big releases come along, it's super helpful to have some helpful community folks like you to lend a hand

Some stuff regarding the preview for Spooky Jolicraft:
-The E menu seems like it was just copied over from an earlier version of the pack. It's missing a spot for the shield and the crafting stuff is in the wrong place. Not sure why this is in here; it looks the same as the base pack to me.
-Shield is missing its own box in the hotbar. (see the alternate widgets in the base pack)
-Wonder if it would be possible to change the lighting to be more spooky (you would probably need someone with good knowledge of lightmaps)
-Crafting table is a bit boring, the bloody one seems like it might be a better fit.
-LOVE seeing the old exp bar included.
a. wondering if a similar look could be given to the boss HP bars and such. (right now jolicraft just uses the default bars.png)
b. I think this would be a neat addon of its own, or an alternate within the regular jolicraft pack.
i actually made a custom GUI using old and new features, as i wanted the pack to have a more whimsical, decrepit and "wonky" quality. there are boss and horse bars made already.
i'll look into the shield and crafting issues, being sick has really thrown off my work flow
okay so i removed the old broken GUIs and fixed the shield slots, i'm not sure why those were in the pack either since i made a point to strip out redundant textures when i turned these into addons
i went and made a new spooky crafting table using a mix of old and new textures, and a custom block config for the sides
Edit: i'm also partway through updating snowy jolicraft, i'll be working on that more when i'm less sick. i also intend to give sunny jolicraft a pass to get it working again
Edit 2: i hacked together a WIP version of bars.png, though i'm not 100% on how the game uses them so i excluded the overlay brackets, it should be usable however

These are great, thanks! I just updated the version on my server:
I'll make a more official release announcement probably next week with some fun new screenshots to show off the additions for folks to enjoy as Halloween approaches.
Thanks for all the hard work that luna_panshiel & andrejolicoeur have done in updating these resource packs. This has always been my favorite pack from all the way back to the old days. I'm excited to finally be able to use a Halloween themed option again. I'll keep coming back to this thread for updates.

i'll be restoring the packs to a functional state at some point as i have been doing for a while now, though i can't say when exactly they'll be done

Oh dear. That's no good. Fixed!
thank you, i'm fine doing a lot of the work myself where i can, not enough texture packs have seasonal addons and i find them fun
this is my current progress with the pack http://www.mediafire.com/file/w2bxtzumua9li8a/Spooky_Jolicraft_1.14_WIP.zip/file

changes:
biome colors greatly improved, use optifine for best results
sought out older jolicraft textures to make certain blocks look spookier
all lingering unfixed pack issues finished
there's still room to improve, but this version is "complete" unless i missed something major
That's awesome! Your additions are fantastic.
I just updated the version on my server (http://www.jolicraft.com/download/spookyjolicraft.zip). I only tweaked the birch colours - thought they could look like dead blackened spooky birches.
I'll spend some time with it early Oct to add some more new stuff and get it ready to share. Thanks so much for your excellent work! It's sometimes hard to keep regular Jolicraft up to date when big releases come along, it's super helpful to have some helpful community folks like you to lend a hand

Just noticed the Purple Shulker Box is missing the appropriate texture.
Is there any estimated time of arrival for when proper paintings will make a return to the pack?
Thanks for the note. Fixed.
