The bedrock looks like a vandalized Motel 8 counter.
A what? either way I wanted bedrock(adminium) to look more earthlike so everyone knows what it is when they see it

Well do u have any news or anything else about an update ? :smile.gif:
Computer's PSU bugged out last night so I can't access the data until the new power supply arrives.
But if memory serves me well all neutral mobs have been finished and a few minor unnoticeable changes here and there in both terrain.png and items.png Also the GUI may be edited I'm not sure if I saved that prior to it shutting down =/
You'll have more info as soon as it arrives until then... I have NO data to upload nevermind anymore news haha :smile.gif:
Don't worry I have them backed up on both HDD's on the computer and its unlikely they'd be corrupted :smile.gif:
Quote from Spark »
Can you change that Glass-Texture? The colour is bad
The blue or the newer brown texture I gave it? If blue... updateeeeee! :smile.gif:
If brown... I'll think about it... I quite like the way it looks in most buildings... So what would you suggest or like to see done to it? :smile.gif:
No matter how much you try, minecraft will never look realistic... And trying is stupid.
Say what you like but over 10,000 downloads and rising constantly must mean that people like it so whatever floates your boat.
I'm also surprised at you... You actually thought I managed to rewrite how minecraft is made and change the cubes into spheres? Perhaps it's time to go back to school for a while :smile.gif:
Also I suggest you go out and see some friends for a while, your social skills are quite lacking.
Would you rather someone knocked on your door and ask "No matter how much you try, your room will always look like crap... whatever you try is dumb so just stop it"... What would you say to that person?
Exactly.
Be quiet and crawl back in your hole :smile.gif: Thanks for dropping by!

Keep up the good work, man. Sad to hear about your computer. Those just aren't cheap to fix anymore...
It's good to have some competition, though. I'll be one step ahead now. =)
I know, I usually expect better but there's always at least one village idiot in each community :smile.gif:
Yeah its a bummer, but at least some of the videos of the MVM series were on my other computer so I can still upload them :smile.gif:
You think you're one step ahead... but your not :wink.gif: I have my minions approaching your PSU as we speak :wink.gif:
Hehe :smile.gif:
i like this pack but unfortunately can't use the 256 version due to 2-8fps even with athlon II x4 640, HD 5850 and this java -Xmx4096M -Xms4096M -jar minecraft.jar so i gave up
Ouch that is a shame, have you tried the 128 version? It may double your fps and if you look into different ways to squeezing just a few more fps out of your machine it may actually be playable.
I did try 256 on this computer (xp machine with low spec) and I get about 5fps, which is a shame but I managed to get it up to 12fps by closing most programs and running gamebooster. I use it for screenshots for now haha as I can only get about 10 minutes of gameplay before java dies (only have 1gb ram)
Quote from Oysterbarron »
Are you running a 64bit system? Because at the moment my laptop is out performing your PC! so something cant be right.
hats a shame HD i cant wait no longer!!! pleas say you have sorted out the wood plank orientation this time!!
PSU is arriving tomorrow... I'm coming for you! :biggrin.gif: Yeah its Windows 7 Ultimate... 64bit :wink.gif: and this computers only xp home edition 32bit and low spec but if I had the data on this computer I could continue it >.<
It's only a matter of time :biggrin.gif: For now my minions are toying with your system :wink.gif:
And I believe I have sorted out the plank being slightly rotated I'll check it tomorrow just incase (My memory fails me constantly)

i think i got it working now as i didn't select the 2 custom options
That's good did you manage to get 256 or 128 working?
sweet look foward to it what a time for your PSU to bum out. to many MVM videos lol!
Well my HDD sure wasn't enjoying the experience... 20GB an episode because of fraps' inability to compress =P
I tend to do 3 episodes at a time, render them and delete the raw files after complete :smile.gif:
However I only have 1 episode that isn't on the computer so I may upload it tonight and then get the others uploaded on monday :biggrin.gif:
I have some bad news.
The new psu arrived on time on monday and upon booting the computer I found that all the textures I were working on at the time were corrupt and had to be removed. I was gutted by this but it couldn't have been helped and I'm thankful that was the only thing that corrupted. I've been working none stop trying to redo everything that I was getting done since v1.01 and managed to get it close to what the pack was before the corruption.
My biggest thankyou goes out to Misa for letting me use some of her textures in my pack as placeholders for when I get around to finishing my pack.
Please check the changelog for v1.02 for the changes and to find out what else has been added AND the credits section to see which textures belong to who :smile.gif:
yo KD good to have you back in the next release could you impliment wild grass support like Scuttles wouldnt mind testing out your pack to see if i get the same probs of the world not spawning correctly!
Far far farrrrr too slow Oyster :smile.gif:
Already done :biggrin.gif:
I saw an odd couple spawn a little funny but personally it looked fine to me, what's your email? pm it me and I'll email you the terrain.png for you to use.
I borrowed Scuttles version of it.
Plus I think I know what the issue is anyway.
He uses a different texture for the grass... they're supposed to be the same but growing... but instead they CHANGE textures to something else... so you're going to see changing all over the place =/
the pack looks quite nice, im not big on high res packs, but yours has a charm to it.
Im haven't had a chance to check it out in game yet but i will soon, as for the screen shots i can point out that dirt does not tile well at all, it looks quite off putting when the rest of the pack is quite lovely.
oh and i saw your screens in wild grass, looking forward to trying that out :smile.gif:

well as far as i could tell with scuttles pack Onece they have grown they dont change anymore after they have reached a certain stage, And depending on what biome they grow in depends on the growing stage.
Well hopefully this will help you and you can help me out too with telling me what you think of the "new" textures :smile.gif:
I have just overhauled the dirt, stone and ore textures and I need YOUR say on whether to keep them or not.
ONLY DOWNLOAD THIS IF YOU KNOW WHAT YOU ARE DOING! If you do not wish to participate, just download v1.02 and be all happyful :smile.gif:
For those that do wish to help.
Download the 256 test reference folder, this only contains the terrain.png and I need your views on it... test it ingame if you want to :smile.gif: 256 Test Reference (click me)

from the brief play time, i can make a few comments,
dirt does tile better now, although is a touch boring if i must say, sorry.
red and yellow flowers look out of place, perhaps some grass at their base and more flowers in the bunch would be cool.
your animated water looks like jello as it runs so slow, the water does look quite good though.
your wild grass is excellent so well done.
ore seems, well, boring, but it doesn't look bad, it could perhaps have some better shadowing so it looks embedded in the rock.
trees look pretty good, wooden and metal doors are simple, but with 256 the could have so much more to make them fantastic. (the iron door would be good for the wood door, then perhaps a cool dungeon or prison cell door for iron)
chests are quite cool, i like them.
the nether doesn't seem well thought out at all (but that could be cause its unfinished, glowstone makes my in house lanterns look especially shabby.)
i assume block of minerals (9 gold bars) are un finished? cause they are very boring. A bit of detail to decorate or perhaps stacks of the minerals so you can put them in a vault.
i feel wheat should be more clustered cause it makes my fields very see through and i like seeing a wheat field that is packed with wheat :smile.gif:
reeds are boring, perhaps some leaves or growths on them would look cool
glass is ok, but seems a bit too much like chicken wire.
torches could definitely have some work done, they are boring compared to a lot of the pack and seem out of place being so plain and simple.
i really like gravel, gives a cool feel to the gravel beaches you can find.
the tallest option in wild grass looks a bit squashed as well, perhaps make the stalks taller and the palm fern things a tad smaller so it doesn't look squashed.
i know this seems super negative but i hope its all constructive critique, with ideas that may allow you to better this pack, if not, shrug it off and take it that i am a giant **** who doesn't know what he is talking about :smile.gif:
The textures are awesome. It's definitely the best texture pack out there, BUT, the game always crashes after some minutes of play with this pack (the 256 solution). Any solution for this?
Thanks :smile.gif: and crashes? Hmmm how much RAM do you have? 64 or 32bit OS? and what is your graphics card?
Only thing I can suggest up at this point with the information I do have... is updating 32bit java to 64bit java (if you have 64bit system) helps a LOT and also making sure to update java itself and your graphics card drivers :smile.gif:

thank for the email KD all TEST PNG installed now. Dirts looking better allthough there is a dark patch up one of the sides and i can still see the slight wavy effect that used to go through the original block. New window color is great looks better than just brown its sort of a mix between gum metal grey/brown now. floor planks are better now.
Havent seen the new minerals yet! wild grass works but im pretty sure there is something wrong with the Single player side of WildGrass for better light and better grass. Got my friend to run the wild grass server side mod and it works fine in his game with no world spawn issues! Like i experience in single player.
Only seen the chest plate at the moment but that looks great and havent been near the spiders yet or other mobs!
btw
Heres the performance i was getting on fast graphics and my firends! im jay
Also read another way of scraping a few more performances out of the game.
If you go CTRL ALT DELETE go task manager While minecraft is running Right click minecraft and goto process find JAVAW.EXE right click and goto priorities and set it to high.
You might have to do this everytime you startup minecraft.
Ah also be sure to use the correct version of wildgrass, I made the mistake of using the normal one while I was using betterlight and bettergrass (OOPS) so yeah :tongue.gif: I'm glad your liking some of the new changes :smile.gif: I'm not convinced with all the changes which is why I made it optional so I can hear your feedback. I'm definately not liking the dirt although it looks nice its just very... BORING :tongue.gif: Same goes for new ore textures.
I'm getting the textures redone now :smile.gif:

Nice i will try this update :smile.gif:
EDIT:
So after creates a new world with the new terran_png i love the new dirt it's look like more realistic.
But when i see water, i'm not a big fan, i dont like the rendered and needs mouvement i think.
Great job :smile.gif:
That is what I would love for water to do... to have it slighly move like real water... the texture it has would certainly have great potential then!
The dirt texture I'm not happy with because its boring but yes it does look realistic :smile.gif: Thats the whole point of this pack so I'm glad you liked it!
Keep your feedback coming :smile.gif:
Job well done! i do have some issues tho =( ~~EDIT~ that may be non issues, as i may have used the patcher wrong~~ END EDIT)
I cant get passed the mojong screen in 256. It just hangs on a black screen, altho reading thrue this thread i may let it sit for 10 min to see if it is just a long load time.
Incase you are curious,
Win7 64Bit
Intel i7 920 Stock at 2.66 (Cuz i dont have the balls to overclock =P)
9G or ram at 1333
Nvidia GTX 460 at 1G DDR5
and i did make sure Java was updated to 64 bit. =)
My second problem is with the 128 pack, I got it to run and it looks Uber awesome! (Props to your awesome skillz!)
But Water and Lava dont seam to want to change. i made sure they were ticked in Mcpatcher but still the old 16x16 water and lava. Any theory's?
Other than that, i wish to tell you that this is my most favored pack and and wait feverishly for each update XP
