It would be wrong of me not to look at what you've done here and applaud. The dyes and new tree styles, along with the glsl shaders project made me decide to take a break on updating the original pack, and I got a little over-ambitious and wanted my next update to be something along the lines of as flexible as Painterly. People didn't like the direction I was taking in the Nether, and quite honestly, neither did I.
You stuck to the 4 color palette, the last person to modify my pack simply painted with random shades of green. The wood and steel door blocks seem to have some horizontal bars (perhaps intentional, but maybe they could use an outline or shading of some sort?). Your pine needles are still grey, and I would have taken the sandstone in a less cubey direction, with a pattern similar to the cobblestone to give it more of a construction material feel. I like this Lapis, I was completely out of ideas for 2 bit ores, aside from enlarging them to take up the entire block. I was planning to source some new lava from from the oracle games, but it's a bit too plain.
In the meantime, be proud of yourself, because until I get the willpower to do an official update, you have my full go ahead to do whatever you want. :smile.gif: Just don't forget to include old alts, or other people's alts when they pop up! :smile.gif:
I love the look of this texture pack so much, but I can't download it from File Smelt for some reason and it's sort of a bummer. Could you perhaps host it on a mirror hosting server?
Welcome back chibifs (even though it's only been a couple of weeks)!

*I don't know about the Nether, mainly because I haven't seen it. It always seems to crash my game, so i've stopped going there.
*The floating dots in the big Steel Door were already there - decided to leave them for some reason. The little doors are too tiny to add shading (make the bars 2px tall), as it all runs into each other.
*Pine needles = below the new wood blocks? Wasn't sure what they were, looked like leaves, didn't seem to do anything... so they need turning green then.
**I've also noticed the wrong colours on the grass tops, but that fixes itself with the HD Patcher.
*Sandstone = I just made it sand in block form. Could have made it pale Cobblestone, but I like the wavy pattern.
*Yes, the Lapis is basically little Ls - as you say, inspiration was running out!
*I've been meaning to... find some Zelda roms and run them through the Sprite viewer, but as i've never played the old Zeldas, I don't know what their lava looks like!
*Apart from the CraftBoy1 and the old Zombie, i've left all the old alts in, and added wool/lapis etc. to chocolatekirby's set. The FrendenBoys above are not in the pack (yet). I should upload CraftBoy2 to the Skindex.
Everyone else: Filesmelt worked fine for me this morning, but if you can't get in... Try this mirror (not the best site, but worth a shot)
p.s. Speaking of over-ambitious, I looked into making retro sound effects, but Gameboy sound makers are hilariously complex Maybe much later on...
i sent maligree a pm a few days ago and he still hasnt responded, so ill go ahead and post this.
i edited this whole pack's colours to reflect the true green tint of a gameboy, rather than the palette chibifs made. it's a nice alternative if anyone wants darker colours. http://filesmelt.com/dl/AlternateCraftBoy.zip

When I started the pack I originally did every release in two color palettes, one easy on the eyes, and one accurate. It became too much of a hassle to do by hand every time I changed a few pixels, and I didn't feel like writing a script to do it. Btw all fans, probably going to do an official update when the next patch drops.
If only. Also.. very nice pack!
uh, no, he's not, it's just a large forehead and fancy eyebrows
also, bearded version I just made
I may do matching zombies eventually
EDIT: here's the zombie
hopefully Frenden realizes imitation is the truest form of admiration
Patience, Padawan WhoCares, I was away all weekend! The water ran upside-down on Friday... ...fixed now!
Updated OP
*Fixed items (28/01 image now in pack)
*Updated inventory screens (chest, furnace etc.)
*Added custom water, lava and portals! (using HD Patcher)
Left = water, center = Portal, right = Lava
*Made Squid lighter (easier to see underwater)
*Made Ghast lighter (original included in pack)
*Updated Human and Zombie
Sorry, no custom fire yet - I don't know what's needed for that.
I'm also considering inverting the lava colours (light body, dark stripes).
I like the FrendenBoys - Frenden-style doesn't scare the hell out of me in dark caves!

i like the way the ghast look, you should add the lava and water to the zip pack, only if you want to..
*missingno. call*
yes, my skin is missingno..
There's no words for the sheer level of epic energy coming off this thing.

edit: could also serve as a title screen with a bit of tinkering
I think it's gotten a bit literal now!
Someone should try aking the old Link character with this TP.
