Er... you go to hell?
It's working fine for me, anyway. A little trippy with the bright colors (purple lightstone? awesome!) instead of dark red and whatnot, but there shouldn't be a problem.
I've been looking for an interesting texture pack to try out. While I don't mind the original textures, I wanted something that was a bit more...I dunno how to put it into words. Anyway, Okami was one of my favorite games and the artwork was absolutely wonderful. Thank you so much for creating this pack. It looks fantastic and does a very good job of creating the same kind of cel-shaded artwork that Okami was famed for. I can't wait until it's entirely finished but so far it is exceeding all of my expectations! Keep up the great work :biggrin.gif:
I can't get this pack to work. It crashes my client every time I open it without the HD fix, and with the HD fix it just goes back to default textures.
Advice?
Did you put the pack in and then run the HD fix afterwards? I'd assume so, but that's the only reason I can think of that it would do this.
Hey, i know this is supposed to be a HD Texture but my computer cant handle it. Can i get a smaller one?
I absolutely love this and would love to use it but my computer just buggs out when i try to use it. By bugging out I mean it laggs to the point of crashing minecraft.
The HD Texture Patcher edits specific classes. Notch just updated Minecraft today, and the obfuscator randomizes the class locations each update. MCPatcher 1.1.7 is configured to where the classes were in Alpha 1.2.0_02; we are in Alpha 1.2.2. It is rewriting the wrong classes in the new client, which makes everything burst into flames even if you delete META-INF (which MCPatcher automagically does).
When MCPatcher is updated for Alpha 1.2.2, you should be able to use the new version to patch it again. Also, I hope the new version fixes the Netherportal texture.
Also, even without patching, shouldn't you still be able to see the textures, even if the animations are in random places? 128x128 packs have never crashed Minecraft before MCPatcher, and they shouldn't crash it now either.

I have posted instructions on how to get the texture pack to run with the new Minecraft 1.2.2 update.
I have also updated the .zip to include a thumbnail picture for the new Texture packs menu in the minecraft menu.
Enjoy!

Quality starts to take a hit at 32x32, however at 64x64 setup soon the resolution is actually still decent. I'll try to get a 64x64 pack out soon. Sorry about the problem.

Running MCPatcher is resulting in the game booting to a black screen for me.
Placing the Okami texture pack in the texture folder results in the client crashing on start with a buffer overflow error.
So far this skin looks gorgeous. Props to you on it for how great it looks so far. The only things I would look at changing possibly are the blocks for the leaves of trees and the sand. The tree leaf blocks don't mesh well together and stick out like a sore thumb and compared to everything else, the sand looks bland. I've got no idea how you could fix the sand but as for the tree leaves, they're really compacted on the blocks. Maybe making a few less per square would fix it? Just a couple ideas. Overall it looks fantastic! Great job, will be keeping up with this one.
Just some feedback on your current Okami version as of 11/11/10.. the torch flames are too small for the torch and off center.
The leaf blocks.. I have to agree with Stukel they don't stick out well, not to mention in my opinion there is little to no difference between fancy and fast leaf blocks.. that's probably because the black border of the petals is way too thick, I don't know if it's because it's meant to be that way but I figured I'd let ya know. :smile.gif:

Personally I didn't see anything wrong with the Cherry Blossom leaves. However I'm concerned about your guys feedback but, I'm not sure exactly what to do about the problem. The cherry blossom trees are an important feature of the texture pack.
So I went ahead and redesigned the leaves from scratch. The black lines aren't as thick, and the leaves have more space.
When you have the chance, tell me how you think this looks:

If you like it, I'll go ahead and include it in the next update, if not then hopefully we can work something else out.
I'm aware of the horrible looking torches, I should have put more thought into them before I released the texture pack. I'm thinking of trying a torch with a shade cover, sorta like this:
I didn't notice anything wrong with the old cherry blossoms, though. The new ones look good, but they don't quite have that same "Okami" feel, without the thicker lines.
I don't know which is truer to the original Okami art style, but I do like the second one better.. there's actual life (color) in the textures.. everything about the texture pack is vibrant but the trees were abnormally dull in my opinion.. and I think it was because of the thick black lines.
However if more people like the original one better I'll stick to it. :3
To have an alternative pack with different block breaking textures. I love the pack, it's beautiful and the paw prints match this pack very well, i'm just wondering if you could make an alternative. Thanks.
I was intrigued, and first looked at this topic because i thought it said "Okama"
But im really amazed by this, and I would definitely use it.
but I just want to know, my computer is slow enough already, but if I use this HD thingy will it run slower? And do I have to switch graphics to fancy or anything?

However I prefer 16x16 ones, since HD packs still have some problems
But other stuff may be useful
