I like it. Rather than trying to make something completely different you overhauled with textures while staying true to the original. The best part is that everything blends together pretty well, and cobble doesn't look AS ugly.
Well, right after I updated the pack with the leaves and cacti, I decided to turn the graphics to normal, and noticed how horribly the leaves tiled, so before anyone noticed I changed them.
I was just wondering how people felt about the fancy/regular leaves being different.
Both of them look good. But up close the fancy leaves could be a little "fuller". I can see through them to the log pretty easily near the top where there's not a lot of leaf blocks. Far away, though, they both look nice. Maybe I'm just nitpicking.
I like that there's a difference. Transparent and not. That's how it should be.
Hmm. Isn't the appeal of having leaves with transparency on them was so that it was easier to find the logs hidden in the leaves? I find it much more useful if I can see the logs, but I guess that the leaves lose some of their aesthetic appeal, don't they?
Thanks. That's actually the second version of the torches. The first version of the torches looked absolutely horrible. Once again, I changed them before anyone noticed. lol.
EDIT:
Actually, never mind. The horrible first version of the torches are still on the sreenshots on the front page.
Looks like the default texture pack with a blur tool swept over it
If you've got a blur tool that can produce textures that look this good and tile this beautifully, please tell us where to get it!
LAR - I think the latest snow and ice textures are great, and I really like your nether blocks as well (although on those I tweaked the levels a tiny bit to increase the contrast between the dark and light parts, mostly so that my netherworld is not quite so dark). I'm eagerly looking forward to what you do to revamp the ore textures.
I tried to make the cobblestone nicer to look at, since it is the most abundant resource to build with in the game.
Actually, the netherblocks are now the fastest way to get tons of building material. But yeah, cobblestone's still the main one I'd choose use for building stuff.
By the way, the screenshots only show the Fancy version of the leaves. Normal version of the leaves are pretty different.
