Its like, im now going to steal some of your furniuture, and mix it with mine.. so it looks better..
and then sell them all together.
Remixing is taking something already created and changing it around to make something new, however alot of mixes on the forums are hardly that, they just take textures from two packs and smash them together with no real effort or change. There is a fine line but I wouldn't lump them both together.
Anyway, I talked to Doku about my pack and he said it was fine since I actually did more to it then copy and paste textures and I'm pretty sure he may feel the same about Tom's remix, too.

Regarding this whole "Remix" issue, I think we can safely exclude tombones' hard work and the primary contributions made in this topic as a culpable example. The stuff here has been built upon the discontinued doku RPG pack and I'm sure no-one can fault the 100+ pages of awsomeness (ignoring the noob input factor!) this topic has garnered from enthusiastic fans of the old RPG pack like Tyken132, Richasackboy, Visigoth, Krayloon, Sumpumpolis and many more!
I will however, point my finger at cheap imitators who have publicised "copy & paste" packs (without permission) elsewhere in the forum, these are the culprits who have earned undeserved credit off the backs of genuine artists.

I would agree with this. Glad I get put in the non- noob category :biggrin.gif:.
Hey just wanted to tell you guys if you didn't already know, I have made a remix for Gerudoku and since I don't know if people have seen the official thread here it is: viewtopic.php?f=1021&t=327492&p=4521788#p4521788 just wanted to put this out there and soon I will be posting a new update on the thread.
Does anyone remember Krayloon's map icon on pg. 103?
Well, I took a look at Notch's tumblr. After a few screen grabs and brain farts, I managed to figure out that the map Notch made is 64x64 (closest estimate). Therefore, because gerudoku is 32x, I had to have a 128x128.
Heavily adapted and scaled from Krayloon's item, behold! The map overlay!!
Do you guys like it? Hate it? Want to feed it cookies?
Couple quick one or two item updates to a few sheets. That is all.
Thanks for the update, which ones exactly?

I suggest you remove that, those are Dokucraft's beds and Doku doesn't want people to distribute his work or edit it.
This is only an alternative for people to use. No credit was taken for the end product and if I knew who made the legs of the bed I would list all the parties involved in some sort of credits. It is not only Doku's work it is at least 3 people's. This whole stealing textures edit packs have gotten everyone so uptight about who owns what. Geuss how that kind of mentality ended up in the real world, Copyrights that prohibit a lot of good work and ingenuity. (If you want to refute me on how copyrights are killing {some industry} I don't have the patience)
No offense to Doku and if he wants me to remove it I will do so, until then it will stay for those who want it.

Nice! With a little more texturing it could work. I wouldn't put too much work into finalizing it just yet as we dont really know the real dimensions. Maybe jeb will let the texture makers know some info like last patch. For the actual map i could make the scroll end and sides a little more defined. Good idea though, keep on texturing Richa.
after looking at the image of the map myself (from notch's blog) here are my findings
Hey, I'm relatively new to minecraft and have been using these packs for a while, mismatching certain things from each other. However, what I can't figure it out is the terrain pictures that always come with the items. I can't find it in my zip file, and I would like to edit a thing or two within it. Help would be greatly appreciated.

You shall find what you are seeking in the GUI folder, confusing I know.

All I find is, "Background, container, crafting, furnace, gui, icons, inventory, items, slot, and trap.

I like it I might need to ask Krayloon if I can use it for my Gerudoku remix. and I might need to ask you as well since you are probably gonna use it too...

Get the new patcher.

Ha ha! Noob input largely means idiots with questions like, "Why does this pack have portals/fire on bricks?" and similar.
What can I say, I have nothing to say....
So full of WIN! (^_^)b
