Firstly, I did not make most of of these textures. Credit for each tile is given at the bottom of this post.
This texture pack is basically the original textures scaled to 32x32 and cleaned up. I doubt I am the only one who really wanted to see a texture pack like this, which is why I am reposting it.
I am also hoping that someone might consider completing the pack now that the Halloween update is out. That would be awesome

I recommend using the HD texture fix with custom water and lava turned OFF. In my opinion, it looks much better with the original 16x16 fully animated lava and water (which gets tiled to 32x32 anyway, I think).

For the record, the people who made those textures originally were Zombuster (grass, dirt, cobblestone, maybe some other stuff) and mr_big90 / monsieurd (the rest of the tiles), both from facepunch I think.
They did really nice work on it, in the days shortly after people figured out you could make HD textures.. for a few weeks it was the only game in town. Credit where credit is due, and all that :wink.gif:

The only problem is that if i replace this with my current items.png i will loose things like redstone pickax and shovel and have no clue how to combine the 2 .png's

What do you mean? This has nothing to do with items.png, it's only a terrain.png replacement.
Here is my version of this texture file. I hope more people do some of the remaining textures (flowers, sapling, redstone stuff).
EDIT: Slightly changed the cobblestone / mossy cobblestone textures
Upscaled:
-Wool/Cloth Block: noise filter "Pick" (80% repeat 4) then blur filter "Gaussian Blur" (1px) in GIMP
Fixed / Improved:
-Iron, Gold, Redstone, Diamond Ore: backgrounds increased to 32x32 (was 32x32 nuggets on top of 16x16 stone)
-All Chests: Thicker edges, makes them look more like the 16x16 chests but with better wood grain
-Log (Top): Thicker rings so it doesn't look so busy
-Brick Block: Thinner mortar, wasn't done when it was upscaled
-Record Player (Sides): Half as many 'holes' so it doesn't look so busy
-Cobblestone / Mossy Cobblestone: Overlayed them partially transparent over the stone texture so they match it slightly better: they became less noisy looking while the stone became more noisy looking with the upscaling, so this makes them match better
Customized (not true to original textures):
-Wooden Door: bigger window
-Steel Door: copied from the original 32x64 Wooden Door and desaturated, played with brightness and contrast, then edited to have more windows
Some of the items I changed from the previous version (the black dots in front of the Brick Block are smoke from a torch):
Not liking the iron door, agf. I think the iron door personally should have no windows at all. BUT THATS JUST ME, and i no this is just a improved original textures, ive just never been a fan of the iron doors.

Cool story bro. Please make a thread somebody cares about next time.

Yeah, I'm posting this in this thread because almost all of my textures are just 32x32 versions of the original textures, the doors are the exception. If there is interest I can post a version with the wooden door from the original 32x32 texture pack and a matching iron door.
Nice work, agf! Here's what I've done with your work: (Added / not added)
Wool: Awesome work on this one. Ores: Hahaha, I didn't even realize! Thanks! Chests: Tweaked a bit to move the lock/opening where it is in the original Log: I agree, this works well Brick: This also works well Record player sides: Not sure about this. While I do think it looks better, it might be straying a bit from the original. Cobblestones: Personally, I think the non-noisy ones look better. The original textures didn't match each other either, so I don't think this is a problem. Doors: I am not adding these because they are not true to the originals, like you said. Nice ideas, though :smile.gif:

Chests: Nice, using this.
Record Player sides: To me, my version looks more like the original, and it's just as close as the other version pixel by pixel. Of each one dark pixel and one light pixel area in the 16x16 version, four of the eight pixels are inverted in both of the 32x32 versions: two dark to light and two light to dark in the original 32x32 version, three dark to light and one light to dark in my 32x32 version.
Cobblestones: I think if you look at stone next to cobblestone in 16x16, and at stone next to cobblestone in 32x32, that the "smooth" 32x32 cobblestone looks much more out of place than the 16x16 or "noisy" 32x32 cobblestone. I don't mean the edges don't match -- I mean stylistically it doesn't feel like the original 16x16 textures at all.
Don't forget to update your list of which textures still need to be upscaled; I'll post again if I do any others.
Right, thanks! I'll check out the cobblestone/record player stuff again a bit later or tomorrow. Maybe I'll put up a little poll or something like that :smile.gif:
It looks like other than on the TNT you just randomized pixel saturation and/or value. At the very least you need to edit the borders of the non-square tiles (flowers, redstone dust, sapling especially) to match the increased resolution before I think you can call this "complete."
You overdid the randomization on most of the textures (they're full of black and white pixels). The variation in saturation and/or value doesn't purvey any information (like texture, grain, etc.) it's just randomness, and it makes most of the textures look worse than they did at 16x16, not better. Did you look at these in game?
The TNT, wool/cloth, crops, spiderweb, sponge, and mob spawner look fine but I think there is more / different things that can be done here than adding randomness to saturation and/or value. As you can see from my version, I think the cloth should have a 'softer' look and the TNT letters should be thicker but somewhat Anti-Aliased, and I went with a blur effect on the TNT tiles rather than pixel randomness to upscale them. The crops should have some single pixel width variation to their outline, but the randomized saturation and/or value otherwise looks pretty good on them.
@NightmareX91
Appreciate the effort, but I'm going to have to agree with agf. Too much random noisiness and such, not enough upscaling. I do really like your iron door though, so I'm gonna add it :smile.gif:
@agf
I love the flowers and soil. Definitely adding those. The TNT top and bottom are nice, but I think the side is a little too blurry. I've made my own and added it, let me know what you think!
This is a pre-Beta-1.2 pack. I am not updating it any more.
If you want a more up to date pack that is similar, try Vattic's Faithful 32x32 Pack. You can mix and match with blocks from this pack if you want.

Personally, there are a couple things I just never liked about the original textures
(The faded light-brown wood and the extremely light-green grass)
Boy was I shocked. Nice job. This is what the original textures would look like in 32x32.

-TNT (All)
-Field (Wet & Dry)
-Flowers (Red & Yellow)
Also slightly modified my cobblestone and matched my chests to yours.

Sorry it came out that way. I wanted to be specific about what I thought was incomplete, and where I thought you used the wrong tool.
