Well I just learned something new.
I always assumed the bottom half of the half-block was used when only a single half block is down, turns out it's the top half. (Which makes sense in retrospect with how textures are normally mapped to surfaces.)
Here is a shot to show what I mean. (Going to be flipping those two halves now that I know this.)

Hey, really really sorry if I am intruding. I have never done any work in textures or pixel art but I though your idea was very unique. :smile.gif: SO... I attempted to edit yours to better suit 16x
Pics!
I tried thinking and keeping in mind you are alone on the moon so most this have transparency. Im attempting make it so they don't see through everything with a mod right now.
I've finished the initial version of the terrain.png
Every tile, except ice, that is used in the game has now been altered in some way.
(I generally leave ice alone since I can't edit water.)
The terrain.png in the first post has been updated (along with the title of the thread).
Also, here is a shot showing the new furnace, lit furnace, workbench and small footlocker.
Don't ask me what that 'furnace' is doing to the cobblestone inside it. I don't suggest standing too close if you wish to ever have children.

Oh and cause I think it looks freaking awesome with this texture.
A shot of some of my underwater construction:
I apologize if this is a little dark, I tried brightening it it some but if I made it too bright it ruined the effect.
Rapture, eat your heart out. >_>

Yea, I have Photoshop too at work but what with it being somewhat expensive and not able to run on Linux I don't have a whole lot of motivation to use it. Maybe if I had to actually print stuff (as it's cymk filters are better) but I don't.
So you using the Gimp? I actually prefer Cinepaint on linux, which is basically the Gimp with support for things like HDR and 16/32-bit color channels. CinePaint on Linux, Paint.NET on Windows, and Inkscape everywhere for vector work.
Can't say I've ever looked at Cinepaint (and their site seems to be down right now) but HDR and 16/32 bit color channels would be overkill for me. (I'm a web-developer by trade, mostly, when I'm not wearing a sys-admin, IT, or C++ programmer hat)

turn the moon into into the earth so during the night you see the earth float across the sky
Yes. That would be epic win. Isn't the title screen editable, so you see something else instead of that Mojang thingy? If so, make it a rocketship coming up from earth. It'd be so awesome.
I added moon, sign and chicken.
(Check first post for links/images)
Not totally settled on the chicken but I think I like the general theme of it.
Floating energy being that will drop small energy orbs used to power phaser shots (When I get around to doing the items anyway. For right now it's still feathers.)

Heh, yea this is far more silly than serious. I debated making it more serious by replacing trees with auto-deploying antenna towers and the various plants with moon-rock art, but the silly appealed to me more. Maybe once I finish with the items I'll see about making a more realistic variation.

Personally I think it would be easier to make a converter to go from the minecraft saves to a .pov and then render in PovRay. But then I suspect not many people are as familiar with PovRay. Course if you are making it from scratch, then yea 3DS Max is going to be the way to go.
Anyway, still trying to figure out how I want to deal with the tools. My first inclination is to try and change the pick into some kind of energy device, but the swinging animation just makes that look really silly. (Hmmm... maybe if I reverse it so it looks like you are using it like a hammer instead of the proper way?)
As for 16x16 textures, that's what I'm sticking to till the game supports anything higher natively. That and it's a size I'm fairly comfortable with since it's the same size of tiles I use for the mapping portion of the online Pen&Paper gaming tool I've been working on off and on.
Yea, the porthole bugs me a little too sometimes. It's on my to-be-tweaked list.

And did anyone else think of this when they saw those sheep?
Creeper pig, Creeper pig.
Does whatever a Creeper pig does.
Can he swing from a web?
No he can't,
There not implemented yet...

Unfortunately the way the game renders items you are wielding kind of takes away from the whole plasma look but eh, I like it.
