The carpet looks awesome! I could see you changed the quartz a little bit. Looks nice!
Glad you like, Ninja!
At the moment I've allowed myself to be distracted on updating the 'repeater' to fit in with the comparator and other black boxed electrical blocks. Fiddling with .json files, even at the simple level I'm operate at is reaping it's rewards. I've always hated the stone and cobble sides to things like the repeater, comparator, lever, etc. and the new blockstates and model folders of .json files is proving quite useful. Most of it is all a bit daunting really, especially when it starts dealing with north, south, west, east facings and the like.
Repeater work has turned out to be a bit more involved as I've probably gone over the top on animating various features. So...like the ctm carpets, a bit time consuming. I hope to have some more pics to show soon.
I'm so excited for the next release of this pack, I already gave it some tweaks just so I could use it currently in 1.9 and use it exclusively when recording my let's play series. Keep up the great work Glim!

Many thanks for the support...I appreciate your post and hope I don't disappoint.
It's a ways to go yet, as I was so far behind even with 1.8.
Just finished up on the new 'repeater' and I'm really pleased with it. A still pic of it won't do it justice, so I'm currently experimenting with my Geforce 970 card and Shadowplay to see how much better it is than Fraps.
Well the carpets, still only two done for now, seem to be received well, I'm looking forward to making more now. Glad you like them, Grump.
I'm still trying to get a format to work with for making little vids as I really want to show 'moving' stuff on Youtube at a quicker pace, and it will be the only way I can properly demonstrate the new GS Sounds 1 pack.
I didn't like Nvidia's Shadowplay at all, sadly. I can't get it to work full screen in Minecraft and workarounds I Googled didn't work for me in Win10. Also Fraps didn't seem to want to play nicely with Windows 10 at first either. I found a work around myself and it seems to be quite nice and smooth at 60 frames/sec 1080p. Now I find that that my old version of Premiere Pro doesn't take too kindly to Windows 10 either! Neither does Quicktime, which I need to work with Adobe After Effects. I kind of like Win 10...until I experience time wasting trials like these with older software I can't afford to replace or upgrade... [sigh]
The more I look at the brown Persian carpet, the more tempted I am to boot up Minecraft and start breeding brown sheep for when this upgraded pack becomes available.
By the way, is it just me, or is this the least responsive forum software in the world?
Glimmar's Steampunk v.18 Update for MC 1.7, 1.8, 1.9-
Vid 1: 'New Repeater_Comparator_Lever, etc.'
This short video demonstrates the new GS repeater, comparator and levers. All now have nice black riveted base boards rather than the garish stone and cobblestone bases. The repeater especially has been reworked at 64x scale with new animations and detail. All these new 'electrical' elements follow a similar design theme, utilizing brass, copper, black enamel and pulsing valves and bulbs.
Thanks for watching.

Hope you like the new look video as I've managed to sort out a lot of issues I had to do with Fraps, PremierePro, HD and the like. Took me all weekend, but very satisfying to get rid of lag and judder at last, and get a nice clear HD video on Youtube...unless it's only working for me! It's only taken me nearly 6 years!!!
Hold off on the brown sheep breeding program, Grump, as I'm not absolutely sure which carpet designs I make will go with which designs at the end. I'd hate to see a lot of brown sheep being culled for no good reason! If I don't manage to get more carpets finished I'll probably leave it as brown, but if there are more and the designs end up similarly complicated as the brown Persian I might end up asking everyone's opinion as to color preference
As regards the forum software, I'm kind of getting used to it again, but I'm still too scared to touch my OP in case it implodes! I preferred it when things were just BB code. I suppose there can never be too many options, but for me there are, as I easily get confused.
Glim, did you ever decided what you were wanting to do with the prismarine blocks?
I haven't I'm afraid.
Lots of ideas though! I'm always open to more ideas, but can't guarantee I'll use or like them.
I've been fixing too many other things that 1.9 broke (which is a huge task!) and working on lots of things that have been bugging me about the pack. Trying to get those niggles (big and small) out of the way is my way of clearing the table to work on new things.
I've wasted the past couple of days trying to update my OP unsuccessfully - every time I make a change and click on the preview button I'm still getting a preview full of missing pics, videos, incorrect text formatting, and missing and garbled BBCode. This hassle is one of those things that put me off MC last year. I've been in touch with cirticsquid on the forums here and he's made some suggestions which I need some clarification on, or I'll end up having to massively edit everything out and just have a couple of pics. It's a frustrating process not being able to even edit one single word in my OP! If I can finally get this OP problem sorted I should be in a position to update more regularly as I work on updating fully to 1.9.
I did have a productive weekend fixing all my Youtube video editing problems, as you can see from the 'Repeater, Comparator, Lever' video above, but it was another huge sidetrack from the business of updating the pack. I'm at least now in a position to more quickly put HD quality video of current work up on Youtube. I needed that sorted to be able to properly demonstrate the new GS Sound Pack, which represents a great deal of work.
Other real world commitments take up a lot of my time too.
If we're doing addon packs to "revert" changes to more vanilla style stuff with the carpets, might I request something similar with stained clay? I built a bunch of stuff back when you first added stained clay to the pack and it was just the 16 colors, then the next version you added CTM versions which looked very different, and I've had to edit every pack since to revert it, since I didn't want to remake all my builds.
Just a request, of course. You may not even want those old clay textures, since they're lower res and less in keeping with the theme.

I support this. Some biomes/terrains look weird with naturally formed mosaics/plating
I can't see a problem with this at all, it'll just be a question of time really to make some nice natural looking 64x clay/dirt stained clay textures. I think it would be necessary for me to put all the ctm stained clays in a separate add-on pack, rather than the other way around, or the MCPatcher/Optifine ctm might not be cancelled out by normal 'block' textures. I'll have a little tinker, but you'll have to be patient as I feel I'm already fiddling with too many things at the mo, but I absolutely agree this would be the right thing to do.
Then there's the question of if 'biome specific' ctm textures is still a thing or if that was only something MCPatcher could do. Might be too big of a job that one.
Sorry...I'll be saying this a lot, but bear with me on this...
My problem is being mostly just a 'creative' builder I don't encounter a lot of these problems in my old world of Newglim, so I don't get hit in the face with weird looking stained clay formations, and then with so much to do I can pretend it's not a problem that needs tackling! However, you're right, it would annoy the heck out of me if I was starting a world next to something that plainly looked daft, especially rows and rows of stone heads!
Just keep reminding me it needs doing. I make notes, but they get lost under a mountain of other 'to do' notes!

No offense Glim, but I prefer the old 32x textures.
It just feels like there's something missing from the 64x ones... It might be that the 64x pack just doesn't look "dirty" enough; I'm sure the grass was grayer and the water greener in the old packs, and more reminiscent of old RPGs like Chrono Trigger, FF6 or Terranigma; for that "polluted world" look.
Loving the new carpets.
The carpet looks awesome! I could see you changed the quartz a little bit. Looks nice!
Very glad, especially as I know how well you've employed ctm on Doku, so I consider you as the expert!
Much thanks, Dan.

I just prefer 64x now, but I well understand what you mean and yes...I think the grass and water were different back then.
I'm on a 64x path though, with no time to turn back now (sounds like a good line for a song!)
"Will you still love me, will you still need me, when I'm 64?"
Haha!
That can be the chorus.
