Ah, where there's a will, there's a way. I was planning on just starting and finding a source of all the separate files, like some sound test crap, and then slicing it into the proper files.
What I think I enjoy most about this pack is the water - 'tis the most outstandingly Legends texture IMO, along with the wooden doors and some of the block textures with the circles-and-angular-lines designs. Also the furnace - a clever way to use the cracked hole in the wall, hehe.
A few questions:
- Do you plan to re-texture signs?
- To re-sprite any inventory items?
- Are all of the textures that aren't default MC textures, finalized for this pack?
- Will anything be based on refractors, seeing as they had such a heavy influence in the world of MML?
- (For SBKT) How much of the audio do you intend to replace with MML sounds? (The more the better ;P)
- (And again) What will you do about step sounds differing according to material, and will you change these according to the new textures of the materials as opposed to the old?
And requests:
- Even though it can't be legitimately obtained, would you consider creating some kind of "special" or "easter egg" texture for sponge?
- Even though it also can't be legitimately obtained, would whoever did armor be willing to make another "special" or "easter egg" type armor in place of chainmail? (idea: Megaman Juno-based armor)
I've been playing Minecraft for a while now but this is the only reason I made a forum name and decided to post. I am a huge Rockman fan and I just replayed both Legends 1 and 2 and this pack is magnificent! Even though some things aren't work like running lava and water, brick textures, etc. (which usual irks me with texture packs) I'll be using this one for the remainder of my time with Minecraft. Can't wait to see updates! Great job!
P.S. To the one who said he'll make sound files, can't wait to see what either!

One, all of it, and two, I don't know just yet. I'll be nailing down the steps last.

For some reason Megaman Legends doesn't use the same files as most other PS1 games.
As in ALL OF THEM.
I'm having to get them all ripped by someone else, who is quite quick at it, ripping some other ones myself, doing steps first after realizing they're all the same cushy sound, etc etc.
Aiyaaaah, I hope Notch doesn't add too many sound files.
Hahaha, that's really funny (and kinda sucks). There are indeed quite a few to cover. I'm really glad you're doing that for this mod though; it'll add to the legends feel significantly! Cool that you found someone to help rip everything. =P
You should endeavor to make the drills and such use all the available space and give them less of a muddy look. The rest of the pack is really good, but the way those look really kill it.
Found my texture pack. The whole thing is just great. It really makes me want to go underground and explore, for some reason...
I agree, this pack seems more underground-friendly than the original Minecraft textures. Things feel more like real mines/caves, and the dark is more intimidating (maybe only to me because it reminds me of the darker, creepier areas of Legends). Altogether the textures just compliment and underground environment more, as they should since this pack focuses on the underground ruins of Legends. Thus far, this pack is really done well, as others and I have said.
Wild: Just curious, is the inventory background missing from the pack, or has it not been reskinned yet? Just seemed strange to me that furnace, workbench, chest, and hud menus are all reskinned but not the inventory menu.
I have the sound his footsteps make but I wasn't sure how that'd sound since some mobs use that sound as well...
Left is original, right is the new replacement.
P.S.: Trying to figure out what exactly obsidian is... It looks like... A cloud over a sphere? A man with a bead and glasses? I really have no idea!

I apologize guys, a lot of this is half-assed.
Now, I am thoroughly pleased to say, you have the best 32x32 original pack so far.
This pack and Animal Crafting are top tier in terms of originality and coherence.
I await it's completion.
