Great work ExtraNoise. I like the continued updates. I have to say, one of my favorite parts of Quandary is the red harvest moon that comes in the Fall.

Im a little confused.. I dont want the month to change that quickly so can I make it change every 3 days? If so how?
Unless I'm misreading this, it sounds like you are asking for something that is already on page 1 of the thread?
No I know about the rotator, but I dont know how I can get it to change the month every 3rd day because I dont want it to change everyday
Also when Im using the rotator will it make my map a snow map in december?
Go in the list and edit it so it repeats each name 3 times.
So how do I install it manually without using the automatic installer? I put the folders into the .jar and nothing changed.. I did this once and deleted it because my file got corrupted and cant figure it out..

harnlarn: You are doing it correctly, except you need to get to the part that has the files, not just drop the entire folder into the JAR. So open up the zip, open up the first folder, and when you see a few files and a few folders, drop those into the JAR.
Rapid_Hands: I think that can be arranged. :smile.gif:
Thanks, ExtraNoise. I'm putting together my own personal 32x32 texture mix and I particularly like the way your various kinds of stone things all work together. Also your door, ladder and chests.
Go in the list and edit it so it repeats each name 3 times.
Thank you for clarifying that Lilyo. This is what I was trying to explain.

It will not. If you could figure out which file controls the snow status, you could include it in the december directory, with a snowless file in the other directories, to accomplish this. Unfortunately once snow has fallen, it will not melt without torches, fire, or lava. So you'd have snow from December that is still there in July. You could then use a level editor to manually replace the snow with air blocks. If anyone could figure out a way to automate that, I'd be interested.

I've been contemplating over the last week the direction I want to take Quandary. Now that Biomes are getting closer, I'd like to take a non-official poll.
My intent is to have "styles" of Quandary, each with its own set of seasons. For example, a set that captures the feel of the pacific northwest, or a set that is based on a tropical rainforest, or a set based on the mediterranean. So they would still have their own separate biomes, but the sets would give the world a slightly different feel based on a general location.
For example, a set that captures the feel of the pacific northwest...
I'd love to turn up the fog and wander through a Seattle forest. Sounds like a fun variation. I hope that Notch takes a cue from your work if he gets around to implementing seasons.
The comedy option for what to do next would be implementing daily texture packs. Just imagine the days imperceptibly shifting from one season to the next as you swap through your 365 day texture pack. (Don't actually do this.)

I really like this idea, EN. I was also thinking you could cut down the months to six (summer, summer-fall, fall, fall-winter, winter-spring, spring, spring-summer.)

Urthman: http://www.retributiongames.com/quandar ... ry_2.4.zip - This is an old version without recent item updates.

I am using this pack along with the rotator script. Great job to both of you!

I think it's clay anyway . That type of block that spawns together w/ sand other than dirt or gravel.
That's the magic of Painterly, though. Quandary's intent is a more muted earthen feel.

WHOA.
How can I not now? WHAT HAVE YOU DONE?
Excellent texture packs though. I really love the cherry blossoms. Pink trees always look awesome.
That's my favorite aspect of the pack, too. It's very 'calm' (if using that word makes any sense).
