Ohhhhh man...Doomcraft is awesome. But Minecraft has always felt more like an RPG game to me. And the idea of turning it into Heretic/Hexencraft? Just too delicious!

You should retexture pigs to be pinkies, and chickens to be lost souls. I know they're not enemies in the game.. but it'd be awesome just the same.
What would cows be? Hell knights?
Still waiting on being able to actually import Doom maps into Minecraft, as Notch hinted on his website.
Pigs -are- pinkies, (albiet, somewhat low res ones with a scary face) and I did plan to fiddle with the chikens as lost souls. I thought about the baron cows too, but Barons are Barons, they don't walk on all fours. :tongue.gif: Maybe I'll just make a zombie cow or something.
I plan to update HexenCraft... I'm not overly fond of the smooth stone texture and definitely am going to change it. It's just too dark and noisy compared to everything else. I also need to finish the rest of some things, and probably might get rid of the gargoyle busts... but I sort of like them. Maybe change them into a scraggily bush instead. Most of it needs refining. I'd also sort of like to redo the armor as mage robes, maybe the other armors too, but that will definitely take more time.

Heretic looks absolutely AWESOME now. Ah, nostalgia. I actually might use this instead of my Desert Pack. Changed smooth stone (much improved!), torches plain and red, tracks, ladders, grain, potion bottles are now more Heretic standard, windows to tile better (lighter cobble), tree bark more orange to match wood, wet and dry soil more orangey to match dirt, aaaaaand that's it for now. Still Terrain only, atm.
Very nice. When i was looking at these texture's i was thinking of that map, lol. Ive been useing the mod MCMapper and this pack and that mod would be a great combo im thinking!

If he does add Biomes this update, there will probably be a few new textures. Texture pack releases will likely come on Thursday, Nov 4th, if a light update. If a heavy update, it will likely be the following Thursday, but I will try to pump them out ASAP.

Loving that Hexeritic texture pack. Is there a way I can have two installs of Minecraft, so I can have one running the texture pack and the other running vanilla? My concern is the save files being overwritten depending on which one I'm playing.
You could make the spiders look like arachnotrons, just put the brain texture on top of the abdomen. They'd just look a little different from the "real" thing. Unless Notch got lazy and used one black texture for the whole spider?

I agree, boats, minecarts, signs and the like need new textures. I just need to figure out how the texture layout works before I go replacing them.
As for mobs... maybe I can turn chickens into imps, Skeletons to look more like the Heretic ones, Zombies into golems... All for a future update. For now the most important stuff is done.

You could always rebuy the games very cheaply. I'm sure there's DL somewhere. Also, sure. :smile.gif: I love sharing my textures, upload as you wish. They're fairly much on every Minecraft hosting site now, I think.
Just an update, I worked a few more hours on Hexeretic, and this is what I've got done so far. Not yet released. Probably release it once I finish skinning the mobs, or if that takes too long, sooner.

Changed Bow to Etheral Crossbow, Arrows to Ethreal Arrows (Also, Ethreal Quiver.)
Flint changed to Ethreal Rock; Flint & Steel also has Ethreal rock to spark fires. Consistancy!
Coal, Diamond, Redstone icons changed to match ore textures.
Gold and Diamond Tools changed to match ore/armor textures.
All Paintings replaced with Heretic/Hexen Art, Stain Glass Windows
Title screen V1 done. Not quite happy with it yet, but it's different. May make a more fancy one later.

Just a quick teaser to hold you over until I get home this afternoon to work on mobs. Here's a preview of the new Art for Hexeretic. I'm probably going to yet modify it a little, I just realized the wood texture is the back and sides of the painting, so I'll probably use the pack's darker wood for it. Everything else I'm pretty happy with!
Also a quick question, how does one get the larger paintings at the bottom? 8x8 squares?

I actually use a combination of both, the monsters are Doom, while the textures are HeX, get out some more Hex stuff and ill be really happy.
Couple things though:
-I used Paint.Net to give some transparency to the water to make it less bleh, you should do it, looks better imho.
-Get better redstone trails, the originals may be good, as it kinda looks like blood, or something like that, instead of a line.
-Sounds can be edited, find some Doom/Hex sounds and implement them.
-The leaves are goofy looking as the wood spike things. Maybe try the doom ones, those look better, although I havent seen them up close yet.
-GET THOSE PAINTS OUT NAOW! love them!
-I dont know exactly what it is, but the "poop" thing looks really funny...

No intention of changing the water, as it was solid blue goo looking stuff in Heretic and Hexen too.

all in all, because of the textures I used Itunes to DL the Doom theme to run around minecraft with now
New pretty much everything. The mobs have been slightly edited to be darker, completely new Skeleton Warrior skin. Mobs definitely need more work yet, but I did so much this release, I just wanted to put this out there.

Why are you using a brown stone texture for the plank blocks? I know for sure there's aplank-looking texture in the game.
It's in the Wolfenstein redux textures, I believe.
It IS wood. Albiet, it's a sort of crappy 1st try, and I'm probably going to redo it. I've also been considering just upping the resolution of the pack to 64x64 blocks.

This Map is pretty awesome and challenging to explore with the Heretic Texture on. Makes the dungeon crawl very dungeony. I much reccomend it.
