I have got to see this updated! I'm going to be posting a video of my Unholy Chapel, created using some of the textures from Hexeretic and Doku - I especially use the painting pack from Hexeretic!

~What a Horrible Night to have a Custom Texture Pack
In another thread some guys figured out just what part of the trianlge pic that is the overlay for grass and leaves corresponds to which biome.
Here is a relevant picture and explanation so that you can customize the color for each biome:

I reversed the code and generated an image that should show exactly how the biomes map to the two colors.png files.
I'm not quite sure how to make use of that color map... but I'm sure I'll figure it out eventually.
Anyway! Essentials are updated for the Halloween update. Note that in higher resolutions, the new watch is broken, this is a coding error not fixabe on my end, but I'm sure MCPatcher will update for it soon.
Lots of stuff updated for both packs, some tweaks and fixes and such. Download and changes are available on first page. Enjoy!
I finally decided to register to the forums because I just had to tell you what a great job you did with these textures. As a older guy who used to play these games at their prime I gotta tell you that both these sets are excellent, but with the Hexen/Heretic set you seem to have captured the mood of those games flawlessly. Hope to see many updates to come!
Thanks, means a lot. :smile.gif: I was just a youngin' myself at the time (lol, 3 1/2 on daddy's lap when I first played DooM to death), but they left such an impression on me I've played them over and over after so many years. They've just never lost their charm.

Maybe I'm just being dumb, and I did do a little bit of searching on the forum... but how the hell do you compile the texture packs so that Minecraft can read them? I'm not quite sure. When I figure it out, I'll update them so they work with the new menu.

After lurking around the forums for a bit, I'm so thrilled that I came across this mod pack! It makes me happy to see that these games haven't lost their touch. Excellent work!!
Keep in mind, since most of these versions are higher res, they're not going to work quite right as is. (Especially the Nether.) I would still recommend modifying the old way with MCPatcher to get rid of (most) of the bugs.
I've also been throwing around the idea of a Duke Nukem texture pack. Thoughts?

I'm playing with the concept now. Mostly tweaking the terrain file at this point, working on polishing it so it flows better. It just seems... eerie looking at Duke textures without any buildings. I have the art all finished, I think that was the easiest part. Duke3D had no shortage of posters, paintings and signs.
I've got to decide how I'm doing the armor, and I've got a bit of tweaking yet for the items.
I also need to take some time to retexture the mobs. I've got a fair idea what I'm doing for that. Skeletons (Alien Assault Trooper), Zombies (Assault Enforcer?), Pigs, Pigmen (Pigcops?), Ghast (Octabrains)
But it's 50% done. I'm looking at a release sometime next week, even if I don't have everything done. That's what updates are for.

Ok, I gotta say that this mod looks like it's pure awesome condensed into a mod. If I didn't have my own project going on, this would be downloaded and installed.

I keep misspelling control as controll. Does mean I'm becoming a troll?
Since that update that added a Mods/Texture Packs menu, I haven't been able to use the DoomCraft v1.3 texture pack. I deleted the bin folder, deleted the OPTIONS in the texture pack, tried replacing the particles and terrain images with the 16 bit versions, and used a fresh install of Minecraft just in case any MCPatcher stuff was left over. However, when I go into the Mods/Texture Packs menu, I have the zip file for DoomCraft, but it remains gray. Selecting it and starting a new world or choosing an existing world still yields the default textures.
I'd like to use just the 16 bit textures without having to use MCPatcher, if at all possible. Is there something I'm missing? Or does it only work with MCPatcher?
I honestly have no idea anymore. I haven't touched 16 bit versions with a 10-foot pole since I've been able to use higher res stuff. I also haven't been able to extensively test for any errors in that level. I'm not sure if you need to use MCPatcher for 16x or not. A lot of the other textures probably aren't compatable with 16x. Most all of it is higher res now. Also, always be sure to check for the latest update of MCPatcher so it actually does work.

Ah, 'ZIP' format. Alright, I'll try fiddling with that tomorrow.
Awesome. Four Towers right? I'll have to try that out. And thanks for making them, I love your Adventure Maps. :3

I LOVE that cacodemon ghast!
Alternatively, I bet you could reskin it as a pain elemental and change the fireballs to lost souls. Though it may not look as good.
