I really wish that Kas adds a option for lighter workbench and everything else made out of wood, it looks odd with lighter wood planks with darker wooden workbenches.
Kas is going to add a lot more options, trust me ;D
Just gotta give him some time.

Am I really the only one who thinks most of the terrain.png looks like crap? Bad color choices and different blocks that don't go well with each other.

Probably not, but repeating yourself about how much you dislike this pack is kind of pointless.

I never said I disliked the pack. I said i disliked the terrain. And I'm just stating my opinion on the new update.
Though I do like how well organized it is + all the alternates (even if I don't like the actual alternates)
Well I can definitely agree that some of it doesn't look the greatest. Coal especially. Not a fan of how it looks (taken from Taehl, who had some of the worst ore textures in my opinion).
The wood texture is horrible (especially if you use both wood and planks with the same color), then the dirt looks bad, and the diamond, iron, and gold also all look kinda bad. I wish he would have done a higher resolution pack. The blocks just don't go well together.
Seriously, frig off with the art theft BS. It's a bunch of god damned pixels. Nobody gives a rats ass, and if someone does, well, they've probably got some severe ADHD going on.
It's pretty obvious when you observe the textures that Taehl's was a base since with sand/trunks the noise was the same and since buckets were the same originally with altered saturation; Same with the apples.
Now, it's wrong, and there is no way in hell it isn't. It's not "severe ADHD" to care that someone stole your work and won't credit you.
I'm not going to drop it, Taehl deserves credit since his work is used in this pack, doesn't he?
Either replace or apologize to Taehl and credit him. If he wants them removed all out, remove them. It's the right/polite/good thing to do, and Kas should. (Currently, all that's still stolen are the apples and the buckets. The rest has already been replaced!)
You, sir, are full of ****. You're wrong.
I have both images in the same photoshop window, and am flicking through them both at 500%. The only similarities are as follows:
[*:ae44s8rv]Both Taehl's and Kas's packs have the exact same grain on the log bark. This is because they both simply edited the base file. Even the insides of the logs are different.
[*:ae44s8rv]Half steps are similar in noise, but the difference in noise is more than enough that it's going to be extremely hard to say "Kas copied/edited Taehl".
[*:ae44s8rv]Sand is different on both. This "noise is the same" ******** is completely false.
[*:ae44s8rv]Gravel, on the other hand, is very similar. Kas's is a less saturated, more brown version of "Taehl's" gravel... which is an EXACT copy of the base gravel. This argument is invalid.
After looking at all this, if you want Kas to ask for permission to edit the terrain from Taehl, you need to have both of them ask permission to edit the terrain from Notch.
Now, at this point, I've yet to look at the items files, but I have a feeling you're going to be wrong once more.
Alright. I looked through the items at both the apples and the buckets.
Again, you're full of ****. Both texture packs are directly edited from the originals.
Stop your self-righteous crusade of "Kas copied Taehl's work and claimed credit!!!" when both of them have "copied" directly off of the original texture packs. The shapes are exactly the same, yes. Shading? Hardly. You're wrong, and I'll be more than glad to make a gif of each texture (Kas, Taehl, original) to show you that both packs may be similar, but all similarities come from editing the original terrain and items.
Well god damn it. I type up a second post and you admit defeat.

I was wrong, but please don't try and tell me pixel art can't be stolen. That's a bit of ********.
It appears Kas has already corrected really everything!
If this is in reference to me, I wasn't trying to say you can't steal art. I was trying to say you were wrong and the art was not stolen.
Sorry, but I'm willing to admit when I'm wrong. I'm not going to try and say I'm right when you've proven I'm wrong!
You posted as I was comparing the items and making the second post, so I didn't see that you had admitted defeat until I went to post. So it's all good.
If you find anything Kas has copied, don't argue over it. Discuss it, and say who's it is with proof!
Now, if you guys can stop arguing it would be nice if you can agree upon one thing. :tongue.gif:

Okay, now this really peeved me.
Without pixel art, Nintendo, Sega, NEC, and SNK would have never had the 16-bit graphics race which furthered video games to where they are today. Everyone wanted to show who could have the best pixel art with the most colors. Go back further. The same thing applied to 8-bit consoles. Everyone was competing with each other over *gasp* pixel-art! Those 3-colored blocky characters were considered a pinnacle of graphics. Not to mention back then it took a lot technology to keep all those colors on the screen.
But that's all in the past right? Nobody uses pixel-art anymore. Nobody likes games that still use it like the Mario and Luigi RPG series, the Castlevania series, Cave Story, Spelunky, yes even Minecraft! To this day, pixel-art is a respected, legitimate digital art medium with hundreds of spriting communities. Several companies still use it, still give a **** about it, and pay good money for goddamned pixels.
Pixel-art is the same as any other creative outlet. Steal it, and you stole some else's work. There's no disputing this fact. Not to mention it's explicitly stated in the rules never to claim other people's work as your own unless you have permission to use it. Now, not to bring up the Kas argument again, I'm not saying he stole anything especially since he's replaced a bunch of his textures since then, and as it has been said he obviously based it off of the default textures. But don't you dare pass off what made video games what they are today as "a bunch of goddamned pixels only people with ADHD care about".
tl;dr - People pay good money for pixel art and it's a legitimate digital art form that has been widely used for decades.
Have to say I am, overall, pretty happy with how the pack is. Maybe some alternate ore textures to make them standout more from one another? And maybe some lower saturated grass. :]
Any plans on modding the water/lava? I know it's not as easy as re texturing other stuff, but I have seen other packs do it..
Just gotta give him some time.
