Saw your texture pack used in a YouTube video and I really liked it. The description gave the link to this thread, and I downloaded it from here. However...
I followed the readme exactly and im positive there were no errors on my part. After I logged in it said it was an outdated launcher and I could play offline, but thats not a problem I just didnt buy the game. After I clicked "play offline" there was just a black screen. I made a backup of that minecraft.jar and replaced it with the new texture one. Same problem... So I dont know if its Minecraft's random fault or its something I did. Any help?
Also, if I did screw something up, ill probably have to download the game again. Not a problem, but how do I save my map? Ive put a lot of effort into it and dont want to lose it. Im assuming I just copy it from the saves folder of .minecraft.

are you sure you're using the right jar....if it's the one you downloaded from minecraft.net then you're doing it wrong

I did a search for minecraft.jar and this is what came up:
C:\Users\Edward\AppData\Roaming\.minecraft\bin
Thats minecraft file where I did all the copying.
C:\Users\Edward\AppData\Local\Temp\minecraft.net\Minecraft
I havent tried that yet.
Im also using Windows 7 if that matters. By the way, I solved my other problem with the black screen. I just copied my saves and re downloaded. It works now but I dont want to try using the new textures until what I did wrong is identified. Im assuming if I repeat the same thing, the same result will happen.
you have to use the one in the roaming folder...also you need a program like winrar or 7zip to modify the jar in any way...so maybe that's your problem

I do have Winrar and im kind of surprised some other people dont...or at least an equivalent. Thats what I used to open the file to paste the textures in.
Which folder exactly? If you mean copy them into .minecraft, then I wont need winrar for that. But if you mean to open .minecraft, then bin, and then use winrar on the minecraft jar file to paste the texture files, thats exactly what I did. I said so clearly in the last post. I listed two file pathways. Which one should I use? Its cant be the second one because looking through the files manually, I dont see where minecraft.net is.
If im not saying things clear enough, I apologise, but I don know how else to explain it. I could have sworn I followed the directions perfectly (I could be wrong, ill admit that) so im also frustrated.
You open the jar in the bin folder that you find in the roaming folder...you open the minecraft.jar in there and then just drag and drop into the winrar window and it should work

Ah, wonderful! Thanks for being patient with me. Apparently, I did everything correctly except for the dragging and dropping part. I didnt realize pasting was different... And if it isnt, I guess the gods of computer technology had a grudge against me at that time.

Yep no problem...I wasn't even sure what you had done wrong, I just told you how to do it as if I were doing it myself, but yes pasting doesn't work.
it's actually easy...just go to the minecraft.jar in the .minecraft folder in your home directory....note, that .minecraft folder is hidden so you'll have to make sure that you can see hidden files. Once you have found it just right click the jar and open with archive manager. Then just proceed as normal
* 1/4 of the surface of the solid gold and brick wall blocks is a fire texture somehow
I am not sure how I did it, but i think if you install this and then the "HD Texture Fix" with a 32 pixel tiles option this problem will be gone. I did delete my entire bin & reinstall the original/this texture pack, because the minecraft launcher couldn't update because of this "HD Texture Fix", so that might also be why this bug auto-fixed.
EDIT: I took a picture of my brick block to show you that they are fine

....If you read above you would see the link to the fix....the fix FIXES that....so the fact that you are posting this saying you think that's how it fixed the glitches, is stupid.
would be cool if u fix that, cuz now my house is on fire x)
