Super Mario 64 is one of my favorite games of all time. This pack makes me smile. I was skeptical at first, but when I saw the paintings I thought it was great. Then I saw what you did with the cactus and the rainbow track and the armor sprites and I realized this is genius awesome.
So many fun, inspired substitutions. I'm definitely going to have to install this and have some fun with it once you get it finished! Especially if you do the music!
Thanks for all your work on this and for sharing it with us.

Haha, no problem, glad you like it. I do have plans for the music and sounds too.
In other news, I'll release a new update in time for Notch's texture pack switcher. (hopefully it works with 32x)
http://i55.tinypic.com/sux1m8.jpg
Also updated fishing poles to match the stick, since they share the same texture. Added the lure, and since Bubs got the most votes out of the people I asked, changed fish to Bubs and Grilled Bubs. Anyone who wants to catch Cheep-Cheep can swap the icon in the items.png down at the bottom. Also added lightstone dust, it's based off of fertile mud from Paper Mario.
Updated. Shame that Notch's texture switcher doesn't work with 32 x 32...
So we have to use the old way of editing Minecraft.jar ourselves?
Nah, I figured it out. Only zips work with the texture switcher, and I had packaged it as a rar. The next update will have it as a zip for convenience. However, you'll still have to use the HD patcher to fix some glitches.
I got a black screen, even with the patch, and I'm pretty sure I put everything at the right folders. I even tried to decompile and compile as a .zip, to use through the built-in texture pack selector, but it didn't work. Any ideas on why?

Hm. There should be no reason for it to black screen. Are you really sure you put everything in the right folders?
If it comes to it, try deleting the "version" file in /bin. Minecraft will then redownload all the default files when you run it. Then, try reinstalling the pack manually into the .jar, since the texture pack selector seems to break after using xau's patcher. Also try copy and pasting the minecraft.jar and renaming it to minecraft.original.jar before running the patcher, but after installing the pack manually. The patcher would screw up the back-up process for me, and I found that to fix it.
Yes, I'm pretty sure I put everything right. I have installed a fair amount of texture packs before, anyway, I deleted the version to redownload all files. I even redownloaded the texture pack and the patcher, installed it manually and ran the patch, only to get a black screen again. I even removed all texture packs I had in the selector, and selected the original texture.
It's a shame I can't make it work, such an awesome texture pack. I will probably have to wait until next version comes up. :/

I'm sorry I can't help you more, I don't really have experience with troubleshooting texture pack errors.
I got this a few minutes ago and it didn't work. Then I moved all the stuff in the "Super Mariocraft 64" file to the part that I see first. It now crashes Minecraft

I have the almighty NOTCH SWORD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It's kind of hard to tell what you did wrong unless you're more specific. It sounds like you just dumped all the folders into the index of the .jar. First, delete the "version" file in %appdata%\.minecraft\bin and then run Minecraft to get things working again. Then you need to extract the .zip to somewhere outside the .jar, and then drag the image files (not the folders they're in) into the .jar to their matching folders; things in "art" go in "art" etc. Then run the HD patcher.
You can also drop the unextracted .zip into %appdata%\.minecraft\texturepacks as an easier alternative, but the HD patcher seems to break the custom liquids if you do it that way. Further details are in the readme.

You put the unextracted .zip in %appdata%\.minecraft\texturepacks? That shouldn't crash your game. At any rate, try the steps I listed if it's still crashing.

one question is this 16X16 i dont like running Xau's HD patcher thing ...... but if not i still give you a Diamond sandwich for awesomness
Meat is optional but in case you want some here it is
It's 32 x 32. It can be played without Xau's patcher but you'll have some graphical glitches.
For spiders, have you considered to make them those blue things that float around the water in that level, where you can change the water level?
Thanks. I have indeed considered those, but I realized Scuttle bugs might be a better choice.

Also, what should I make fish? Bubs or Cheep-Cheeps?
King Boo would go well for Ghasts. :tongue.gif:
I personally like Cheep-Cheeps.

-Shovels have been replaced with Diggin' Chuck's shovel from SMW, and stone and gold shovels are replaced with Minter Ant's from SML2
-Hoes have been replaced with Greaper's and Glum Reaper's scythes from SMRPG
http://i55.tinypic.com/33kyys6.jpg
-Watch based on the pocket watch from ML:SS, saddle based on Yoshi's saddle/shell, leather based on the cows from SMK64
-Crafting Gui inspired by the Tox Boxes
http://i55.tinypic.com/5dtixz.jpg
-Texture switcher compatibility (You'll still need the HD patcher)
Try the new download.
