First off, you've all necroposted. And this is for classic. Right click the picture in the first post and save as "terrain.png". Then go to the start menu (or the orb with the windows flag in it) and click "Run...". Type in %temp%\minecraft.net\Minecraft and using winrar, open minecraft.jar and place the terrain in there. In the world of minecraft client, just place it in the skin file.
um.... call me a n00b if you want, but how do you install this? ^^; I'm used to the texture packs being an a .zip format that I put into the mods/textures opener in the actual client...
A friend of mine wanted to make the levels from Portal in Minecraft. "Wasn't there someone who was making Portal textures?" A response, from someone else: "Yeah, but he never finished/released them." Thus, was born this! I made a Portal texture pack that includes:
-Buttons
-Doors
-Normal and Companion cubes (on sand and gravel textures, so they fall)
-Box droppers
-Observation rooms
-Elevators (and the doors)
-Platforms, their pistons, and the pits under them
-Metal grates
-Energy ball launchers, catchers, and the energy balls themselves
-Fizzlers
-Indicator lights
-Turrets
-Metal (in all 3 sizes)
-Concrete ceilings, walls, and floors (includes the checkered floor)
Note that this texture pack is not meant to make the game look like Portal, it's meant to make it look like Portal in Minecraft. That means the textures are lo-res, the details aren't all there, (I couldn't fit them all in, originally you could have an orange glow in the pits) and everything is out of proportion (just like Minecraft, nobody makes things in the right sizes). But no, really; you can make some pretty cool stuff with this texture pack that resembles the real deal. the idea of this pack is to include every puzzle element in Portal, or at least most.

this texture only works if your trying to replicate the game maps... if your trying to play minecraft but with the similarities of looking like portal, your ****ed.
Maybe I am a noob but where do I download this portal mod thing?
open computer or some directory and go to %appdata% if u are successful there would be folders there. The first folder should be called .minecraft, open that then go to bin, in bin folder open Minecraft.jar. Did i mention you need Winrar or a similar .zip file opener? get that first then if u open minecraft.jar... find the file terrain.png file and move that file to a separate folder you can find easily. copy the image above with the bunch of squares and such and save as whatever name u want it to be. and it what folder u want it to be. use winrar to take that file and open another winrar window of the minecraft.jar contents copy or cut the image u got from above on this page and paste it into minecraft.jar folder. name it terrain.png. You should have only one terrain.png in that folder now. Play Minecraft and Enjoy. I hope this Helps :smile.gif: -Stroggdorr-
Hey, guys. I'm working on a modified version of this portal pack (partly because it hasn't been updated since before Halloween, and partly because I want to be able to recognize gravel and dirt).
I don't want to take any glory away from this pack or the original owner, but I do want to post the link to my pack for those who are interested. Modified Portal Here If you have any comments to make about my modified pack, please make sure to write them in that thread. I have no desire to undermine the original Portal Pack creator, but I do want to offer an updated pack for those who desire it.

One quick question (Please reply)
How to change texture packs in wom? (Wom = World of minecraft, and that means, creative mode)
Please tell me i really want to know
Read the whole topic before replying, please. I already told you all how to do this.To download the picture, just right-click and save-as, the same way you might save a picture to your hard drive. Note that it only works in creative, and you need a modified client of some kind that can use custom textures (IE WoM).
For SMP textures, go here. Thanks to carlotta4th for making these textures, I greatly appreciate it!
In the world of minecraft client, just place it in the skin file.
Aweome!
Yea lets quote the whole original post just to say one word.
