Back when I first found out you could change the textures I played around with making a sci-fi / tech texture.
I recently updated it to include the new stuff and figured I might as well share it.
I only changed enough to change the feel of the world but I think it works.
Edit #2: Changed the grass again. This time to just be a solid block.
Scroll down in this topic for a shot of what it looks like now.
Edit #3: Changed the tree leaves, scroll down for a shot.
Edit #4: Fixed the floaters in the leaf texture.
Edit #5: Added plowed dirt and a new forge texture.
Edit #6: Added normal torch and workbench.
Edit #7: Added reeds, clay, cacti and chests (Removed rivets from sand and gravel too - great idea guys)
Edit #8: Added record player and and flowers/mushrooms
Edit #9: Added TNT
Edit #10: Added items.png
Edit: #11 Added Halloween tiles with new hel art.
Edit: #12 Made a Texture Pack .zip

Tis far better to be a witty fool than a foolish wit.
EDIT: I think you could afford to make the grass closer to solid green, though. As it stands, it just looks like dirt with green scribbles on it. The grass should dominate the dirt, not the other way around.
Amusingly, I half debated just not even having the grass show up at all.
I was attempting to go for a circuit board look but yea, it does look a bit off.
Maybe if I swapped the 'grass' with the 'copper' it would work better?

Yea the floating pieces actually do wrap around but when minecraft is drawing transparent blocks it doesn't render the backside, so I fixed em to no longer look like they are floating.
As for what I use http://gimp.org.
Like photoshop, only free and runs on every OS out there.

You can see some coal in the second shot in my original post. The rest of the ores look exactly like it but with different colors. (The colors are about the same as they are in the default texture.)

I'm not crazy about the torches or the green line on either of those special blocks (which I'm guessing are a chest and a furnace on the left and right, respectively.) Still looking good, though. What do the ores look like?
Can't say I'm entirely happy with how the torches came out myself but without breaking down and going to a higher resolution texture that was about as close to what I wanted as I could get.

wow this is by far the best re-skin i've seen yet, (keep in mind thats MY opinion) it really adds alot of depth, although it wouldn;t work in a realistic scenario (you cant outline blocks in a realistic mod :/) it looks epic win with the blocks of steel and such, i had thought about making an industrial skin-mod. but i failed at it :sad.gif: but yeah i would love to see some blocks like this in MC (actually in the game, not a skin mod) scaffolding out of this would be awesome (and we could make labs and such)
Also the torch texture is awesome, maybe make it the elctronic torch though? i find it looks a bit too electronic for a regular torch, but yeah
A really great retexture so far, I didn't like the look of the torches either though, so I made some editions. They're now a sort of Jacob's ladder thing (electrical arcing); though they didn't turn out as well as I had hoped. I also changed the chest and cage textures to fit the theme.
Oh, I also made the sand and gravel blocks smoother (As they are affected by gravity, they wouldn't be riveted to the surrounding blocks. I couldn't always tell the difference between gravel and stone :Sheep:).
Edit: I almost forgot about the mining animation edit; the rivets on most blocks will be removed, and then the block will break.
Feel free to do whatever with the edits.

Thanks again for the wonderful retexture!

I pre-purchased Minecraft in July of 2009. One of the better purchases I've made in recent history.
I recently updated it to include the new stuff and figured I might as well share it.

oooooh
Like this?
Yea... I like that.

I also agree about the tree leaves so I recycled my old grass texture and I think it works pretty well.
As for pigs / sheep / creepers / etc.
Feel free to make your own. >_>

This texture pack is pretty jawsome
[Lime] [Lime] [Lime] [Lime] [Lime] [Lime] [Lime] [Lime] [Lime] [Lime]
really? reminded me more of legos...
But yeah, this is pretty awesome. I like the doors a lot. I can never make the doors look interesting in my texture packs OTL...
In any case...
Added textures for torches and workbenches.
Check the .png in the OP
