Welcome to the future of Minecraft server listing APIs,
MCFind.ml "Every server, listed or not. Nothing can hide from the master of all lists."
Wow, you're making some really bold claims there! How does it work?
It's rather simple actually, this is not a traditional server list. You actually can't add your server, we do it for you! This is an API for finding servers extracted from low level scans of large portions of the internet. If enough interest is shown I plan on making some of the tools used to do this open source and scanning more of the internet! That's right, this is a non-profit initiative, everything earned goes right back into improving how my system works.
That sounds super awesome! How can I start using it?
One of the best parts is that the raw data will be public for anyone to use as long as my generosity is not abused. Everyone is welcome to use the my resources which I will be making public soon for anything they want as long as they meet the following simple conditions:
You must give credit to me as the original compiler of this data set. It's a time consuming and expensive process behind the scenes and I give it out ad-free and with minimal limitations. I will enforce this and violators are subject to being permanently restricted.
Your application must keep a local cache of my datasets to prevent excessive load on my service. I recommend keeping data for 24 hours after fetching it. If you request the files more than 1,000 times in an hour the system may temporarily limit your access to datasets for a week. Please note the random IP API is exempt from this, request it all you want!
For more information check out the website at MCFind.ml, if you have any questions please feel free to reply to this thread. The finalized website will provide both a simple to use server "vending machine" and a public API for everyone.
This is actually a really nice idea.
That's all I have to say, I\m speechless of this!
Thank you 10blocky10! I really do appreciate the kind words. I figured this would be a good thing to startup seeing as tons of old server lists are dying (a great example being our very own Minecraft Forums server list). As a result of this, thousands if not tens of thousands of Minecraft servers are being lost to time; my goal is to dig these back up and find some servers that were never listed at all along the way. My motivations for doing this are truly philanthropic and I really need all the help I can get with getting my service out there in the world. If you want to help it's as simple as saying "Hey I found this cool new site" to your friends, I ask nothing more.
Anyway, near-rant aside, thank you again for your kind input on my project. A surprising amount of work has been put into making this possible.
