Just installed Java onto your Debian machine? Failed to execute Minecraft? This is your simple solution.
THIS REQUIRES YOUR ROOT PASSWORD FOR SUDO.
Description and the reason of creation:
This is a tool for the debian users who installed Java via libraries and the execution of the jar just, leaves it alone or opens it with another program, (Ex. Archive Manager). So, to divert the user to have more playtime I created this script for the player. This executes terminal code without you entering it and when you open the application it will open Minecraft w/ no terminal! I created it because I didn't want to execute the terminal code all the time and I just published it for people's convenience.
THE RECOMMENDED RELEASE IS INSTALLED VIA METHOD 1. DEVELOPMENT, LEGACY, RECOMMENDED ARE STORED IN SVN. The current development release/stable is revision 3. DO NOT GET LOWER REVISIONS.
Installation:
To install this, we use the first method to get the latest version via terminal. cd Downloads && sudo apt-get update && sudo wget -O runminecraft.sh "https://www.dropbox.com/s/tdo7faymezwh0wd/runminecraft.sh?dl=1" && sudo chmod +x runminecraft.sh && clear && echo Installation of "runminecraft.sh" has been set as a executable and can be run && clear && echo Downloading and Installing Minecraft for Minecraft Debian! && cd /home/ && sudo wget -O minecraftlauncher.jar "https://s3.amazonaws.com/Minecraft.Download/launcher/Minecraft.jar" && clear && echo All set to go! You may move the runminecraft.sh if you will. && echo "@Brayden, thanks for the note. I wouldn't have saw that otherwise."
Installation via SVN:
Using a SVN is a better way to keep up with your favorite releases, and use development versions.
DO NOT USE THIS METHOD IF YOU DO NOT KNOW HOW TO USE SVN.
I need to add the repository and refresh apt to be able to install it. Plus, the when you enter the sudo once, you don't need to enter it for the rest of your terminal session.
Should I use UbuntuSDK for Python or Qt Creator for C++?
