As many have realized, the GUI provided on the minecraft site does not display chat or log and is rather buggy. This GUI aims to provide a way to easily view and access information about the server without having to execute a command or scroll through the log.
What Does It Offer?
- Easily view players currently online
- Auto-complete for player names when entering commands
- Scrollable list of all commands available on the server without needing to type /help
- A clutter free, straight to the point interface.
How Do I Set It Up?
Setup is relatively easy; simply follow the steps for setting up a cmd-line server on the minecraft wiki.
Then throw the MCSW.jar in the same folder as your minecraft_server.jar and run.bat files and double click to start it.
It will most likely ask you to accept the EULA, simply close the server, open eula.txt and change eula=false to eula=true then save it and restart MCSW
When you restart MCSW a few errors will be thrown because it hasn't created some of the properties files yet.
This should only happen on your first run after accepting the eula, and will occur even if not using MCSW.
And that's it! You're done!
To autocomplete the name of an online player type the first couple of letters of their name and hit CTRL+F
First off, I really like the program. It's much nicer than the normal GUI. One suggestion is to make the window resizeable. Also It'd be nice if you could separate the chat messages from server output messages.
