Hey All,
So im trying to make a new map for my PvP server & i have created it in World Painter, fine, but when i go to test it on minecraft (Local not on the server) it is really laggy. I have no idea why, minecraft is never laggy on my computer (Mid 2012 Retina Macbook Pro 15"). Its obviously something to do with World Painter because as i mentioned it never lags with other worlds. Any ideas how to remove the lag in minecraft or how to make a map in World Painter without lag?

I am having this problem as well. I noticed the lag occurs much more as I get closer to custom objects that I imported from schematic files. Did you import custom objects as well? It also may have something to do with the frequency of caverns and chasms, filling them with lava/water, and hundreds of pockets of lava/water flowing through the caverns/chasms. I still have yet to paint and test large worlds avoiding these possible occurrences.
If you're importing custom trees as a custom object layer, make sure you have leaf decay off, otherwise you have millions of entities which will lag you to hell.
It might be because of all the custom objects/terrain you may have on your map. Not sure though, I only have a slight bit of lag in my WorldPainter maps. I really have no idea what I'm talking about with this, (I've never done any research on the topic) so you should just take my opinion with a grain of salt. Grains of salt are good though.
