Hmm, how do I figure out what region I'm in? =P
Edit: Never mind, found the coordinates option! Sweet. Now to figure out the rest of the options.
Edit: Fantastic, fixed my area easily and well. I think my area was pretty screwed up. Huge ocean was ExtremeHills? The only thing that got me thinking as I was editing, something that I have trouble sometimes with world editors as well, is trying to find that balance of it seeming "natural" the biome changes I suppose. This is a minor point however, no more ice and snow everywhere!

Thank you for the detailed error information. Is the world open in Minecraft? I'll look at being able to load a region even if the region file is open in another program, namely Minecraft. Though the same problem will happen when saving changes to a region. The short term solution would be to make sure the world isn't open before opening it in Biome Painter.
THIS IS EPIC! In Skyblock, The Water Always Turned Into Ice Cause When I Pressed F3 It Said I Was In A Tagia Biome And I Thought It Was Wrong! So I Changed It To Forest Biome And It Stopped Snowing!

Ok, I Might just be doing something wrong, but I cant seem to get this to work on my single player game. I'm trying to change the several diffident biomes around my town into plains to make stuff look nicer. But I cant seem to change the sand blocks to dirt, if someone could tell me what i need to do Id greatly appreciate it.
I'm wondering about the repopulate function, wasn't it mentioned that it will force minecraft to re-create ore bodies as well as trees & animals? I'm thinking of the new emerald ore that has been added in the recent snapshot, and should make it to the final release. Seems it only appears in mountain biomes (extreme hills?) and rarely. So, I'm thinking a quick biome selection for extreme hills, set to repopulate, and an old map now has emerald ore.
Any idea if that will work or not? The only glitch I can think of is if it repopulates the trees on top of the trees that are already there. Might look weird, lol.

That makes sense, yes. When you try it definitely do so on a separate copy of your wold just in case.

Seems to work, I selected a plains biome, set it to extreme hills, and repopulate, and there are now emerald ore bodies there (didn't check beforehand though, But I would imagine there were none). Didn't mess up the plains too much either, since there aren't too many trees in extreme hills. Got tons of animals though, :-)
One thing to be aware of that I just found out. When using the repopulate function, that apparently also sets it to create pools of water (and I assume, lava, though I haven't seen it yet) as I found a brand new water pool in the middle of a village that was in the plains area that I reset to hills in order to get emerald ore. So, that's a possibility when using the repopulate function to get some ores, you may also get pools. Seems ores, trees, grass, animals and pools are what get's calculated when the game populates a chunk.

You're a life saver, now my plains house isn't in the middle of a Taiga since the map conversion. All the convenient and useful features are already implemented so I can't wait to see how you improve this.
Thanks.
