thanks for the help minerscentral
Rei's Mini map just worked but the others did not weird
One thing that is missed is that magic launcher does some checks in the addons for possible incompatibilities.
Indeed. If you added that (as well as perhaps actually showing which mods are potentially conflicting on hover or something), I would consider switching from magic launcher.
I'll be adding more addon installation / detection options and add support for the shaders mod, as well as everything else. I'm hoping to make this process very foolproof.
@Minerscentral: Make sure you install ModLoader and move it the top. Rei's doesn't require ModLoader.
thanks for the effort, top quality as usual i'm thinking of replacing MagicLauncher with this but theres still one issue preventing me: your launcher writes to %appdata%\roaming\skmclauncher. could you change it so the configuration gets saved to somewhere inside the .minecraft folder ? either into the \addons folder your launcher creates anyway or to \config for example ? i have a portable setup and share my custom client with the friends playing on my server so that would be really helpful.

You can already change the path of that folder for extra configurations, but the main profile HAS to be installed to %APPDATA%/skmlauncher. I will be changing it so by default it goes to .minecraft/skmclauncher as it is something that annoys me.
Looking sweet! Only problem I had was that I couldn't add multiple mods at once. Like select more than one mod but it worked out fine anyhow.
I'm certainly switching from Magic Launcher to this one!

Note that the profile contains passwords at the moment.

You'll have to add each one by one at the moment. I hope to fix it.
Another thing is that when you start the launcher and go into Addons, and then press Install you end up in your home directoru (On Linux= ~). It should put you in .minecraft/ or .minecraft/mods/ right away.

so tody I configured your launcher to work with my minecraft setup (was using bat files chaning appdata directory for different versions at the same time) and while using your launcher the game is quite laggy 10-27 fps while launching with my batch file:
set APPDATA=D:\Programme\Minecraft\Minecraft_latest_stable
D:\Programme\Minecraft\Minecraft.exe
I get 60-280fps depending on whats around me (was monitoring the fps with fraps and logithech g13 lcd not the debug screen)
I was using the jar version of your launcher
I had TMI and Zombes Modpack already installed before downloading your launcher
there also are the Minecraft.exe and .jar launcher in the same directory (D:\Programme\Minecraft) as well as a lot of other stuff like mcedit (different versions) skin editors noteblock studio etc etc but none of that should be interfering with anything?
Using Windows 7 Ultimate (bought OEM not cracked, newest patches installed, installation in german language changed to english) running on ASUS X93S (changed HDD) had second monitor plugged in via vga at the time was watching videos on yt there if that might have anything to do with it (sometimes some programms react strange to that kind of details because someone overlooked something during programming any of the software involved)
I'd like to use your launcher instead of like 8 different shortcuts to the different batch files I have but with the current problems I guess I can't
Do you have dual graphics cards? If so I HAD the same problem. I will let you know how to fix if you do.
Stupid github post commit hooks don't seem to be working today. No Jenkins builds....

The next version should remember your last directory between sessions.
Some people may install mods from a downloads folder because that's where browsers put their downloaded files, so it varies between users.

If you are watching YouTube, that will be consuming both CPU and GPU power. If you are watching h.264 videos (which is a high possibility), there is a possibility that your GPU may also be involved in decoding the video, in addition to displaying it. (Video compression algorithms these days use a lot more processing power, but with the upside of smaller files. Trying to play a high definition h.264 video on an old machine is not even possible as it will consume 100% of the computer's resources.)
Please test it while not performing any tasks and I'd be happy to look into any issues that still occur.
Hmmmm... you grabbed my interest. Would this work along-side something like TortoiseSVN to safely manage minecraft.jar backups? I prefer to do my own.
If it does, then you've done what MCPatcher fails to do; how to install mods, and where to put them.

Looking at adding a mac version, just hoping to clear up any issues with distributing JavaApplicationStub in the repo.
I'm pretty sure rei's minimap does require modloader.

Thanks for that, I'll take a look at getting Mr Jenkins to build a mac version this afternoon.

Fixed already.

It should fix the problem with the launcher getting stuck on "Logging in...", among other issues.
