under Configuration , select NEW , Create a new name ie .... USB Minecraft .
under Environment , Select 1.12.2 , or any of the Minecraft Profiles that are installed , ie Forge1.12.2 etc ...
Put ML in the same directory as your Minecraft.exe
That's my setup, as described in the tutorial. I got my data in a folder, and a shortcut with the workdir pointing to it, with MC.exe in there as well.
I followed your steps to make a profile
Still the exact same error. I'm going to test with a pure "vanilla" install in the appdata, see if that changes anything...
EDIT: I'm so dumb I kept missing the "environement" thing. It kept getting back to classic and after setting the jar I thought it would set itself up but I didn't pay attention if it did

ML can not update any of MC files . you will need to run the vanilla 1.12.2 game at least 1 time to update . only when the vanilla game is working can you mod it and have all the dependencies installed

Ok, I had edited my previous answer, but seems MC forum didn't save that, so here
It worked, actually, I was just really, really dumb, and I kept forgetting the re-set the environnement setting (it kept reverting to classic whenever I changed a path and I didn't see it at first)
Now it all works perfectly fine
thanks a lot for the help

With ModLoader disabled. Optifine, only work, My SPC and TMI is somehow broken..
Looks like you have mixed up versions . Here are some rules to use ML
Use original minecraft.jars only . do not put anything in them .
The window where you added mods to , is for CORE MODS only, its so you don't have to put the mods into the minecraft.jar file . You will need to experiment with the order of CORE MOD injection. move the items in the list up and down until there are no errors .
Forge mods go into the /mods/"version#" , where "version#" without the brackets is the Minecraft version ie ... / mods / 1.7.10
No mixing of mod versions .
Looking at your mods names , they do not look like the originals . did you get the mods from Curse or original author .?
From what I remember ,there where 2 versions of TMI a Core mod and a Forge version same for Optifine and other mods as well

If you have some Coding knowledge it would be easier to under stand this stuff . The 1.7 branch consists of patches to correct errors . the stable version is 1.7.10 . everything below this is demoted because its broken .
Stable Minecraft Branches are found in the minecraft wiki . versions like 1.7.10 , 1.8.9 , 1.9.4 , 1.10.2 , 1.11.2 , 1.12.2 any other builds are demoted and unsupported .
Its. Beta 1.7.3... My TMI is b 1.7.2, SPC is b 1.7.3
Optifine is b1.7.3
I cant seem to find a b1.7.3 of tmi
here is an analogy , they all have to be apples to make apple sauce , if you throw in a orange and a banana , you get fruit salad . lol
It wont work because during obfuscation the real *.class names are changed in each version . If a variable is called from Minecraft 1.7.3 , it can only talk to b1.7.3 , it cant talk to any other version because they were not compiled and obfuscated together .
and again why are you playing with broken builds ? the only supported version of the 1.7 branch is 1.7.10
A programmer is writing code for say minecraft , they release 1.7.0 and people find bugs and tell the programmer . They fix the error , compile and obfuscate , then release 1.7.1 . More bugs are reported and fixed , then a 1.7.2 is released . Then a 1.7.3 etc ... all the way to 1.7.10 , when the programmer says its finished or final version .

I think you are confused; they are referring to BETA 1.7.3, which is an entirely different version from release 1.7.x, not really even an "apples and oranges" comparison:
It is correct though that they are attempting to use TMI for Beta 1.7.2 on Beta 1.7.3, which will not work except with rare exceptions (usually very basic Forge mods which entirely rely on Forge hooks with no references to anything in Minecraft itself).

Your right , I read it as b for (build) as in minecraft build 1.7.3 . I did not even consider the word beta , as a coder would consider all his work beta , until he does not want to update it .
As what I'd call a highly advanced modder (if not very well known due to the fact I make mods for myself and for a very old version) I'm well aware of that and even mentioned it as one of my very first posts on these forums.
Not entirely sure If your launcher had anything to do with this, but it did start with me trying to use your memory allocation feature. And i'm also desperate for help.
all the links and feeds in ML are hardcoded . sp614x is fully aware that some of the links are out of date . There is also a problem with parsing minecraft version variables past 1.12.2 . He may be waiting for 1.13 final before he fixes the code . Try MultiMC launcher
I get this message any time I try \/\/\/. It's been a few years since I last set up ML, any ideas to help me??
You need to run the vanilla launcher at least one time to download that version of Mincraft you want to use and then create a ML profile for that version
Been using Magic Launcher for years, still the best launcher out there!!!! Since 2011 or 2012 I started to use it
And I don't think sp648x takes suggestions, commandline minecraft launcher, like "-u -p -s -p" meaning user, pass, server and profile. That was possible with the legacy mojang launcher before 1.6 came out.
PS: My english is bad, so sorry if theres bad grammar
Rollback Post to RevisionRollBack
MagicLauncher is the best launcher I ever used! Hoping the developer would update for 1.13.x and 1.14.x

I scored 82% on the Minecraft Trivia Quiz. How much do you know about Minecraft?
all the links and feeds in ML are hardcoded . sp614x is fully aware that some of the links are out of date . There is also a problem with parsing minecraft version variables past 1.12.2 . He may be waiting for 1.13 final before he fixes the code . Try MultiMC launcher
I have picture on my Onedrive to show how to set up ML http://sdrv.ms/TPcx5v
There is eplanations in this topic by me and others . just search

No it's not , There are many changes in 1.13 so ML will need a update
You need to run the vanilla launcher at least one time to download that version of Mincraft you want to use and then create a ML profile for that version
Been using Magic Launcher for years, still the best launcher out there!!!! Since 2011 or 2012 I started to use it
And I don't think sp648x takes suggestions, commandline minecraft launcher, like "-u -p -s -p" meaning user, pass, server and profile. That was possible with the legacy mojang launcher before 1.6 came out.
PS: My english is bad, so sorry if theres bad grammar
