I'm having a problem down-grading to the 1.0 version of Minecraft. I can patch for other versions such as 1.7.3 and 1.4 just fine, but it seems like everytime, regardless of the fact that I'm using the current and vanilla version of minecraft, I can't down-grade to 1.0 (I want to play the Aether Mod ). The error states: "The Files in the directory are not for the current version or not vanilla. Please delete your .minecraft folder and run the launcher for a current vanilla version of minecraft".
Nothing wrong with the directory, as I double checked to make sure.
I have tried many times to go from 1.2.3 to 1.0.0 but every time it says my bin folder is not vanilla or is outdated, i have deleted and reinstall it 3 times now and done this to my whole .minecraft folder too but the problem persists. please help.

If you were planning on pissing me off then you already have by reading this.
Thought you could get away with giving out software with a viris did you?! No more! *Reports*
It's not a virus it just is redirected through a site that has ads that can sometimes hijack your browser temporarily, done that way because then the maker can earn money off what is usually just 5 seconds from anybody who wants to download.
Anyways, on topic: If I used this to downgrade, is there a way to return minecraft to its regular state? (I know it can re-upgrade to 1.2.2, supposedly though it didn't work when I tried, but I want it to go back to updating normally too.)
The tool has no viruses. I scan my computer all the time, including once after downloading AND using the mod. No viruses found, and as everyone else doesn't seem to be having virus problems, I would say that it's ok to use.

If you want to go back to the current version then there are two ways to go about this to go back to the current version of minecraft. 1) Before you log in the launcher, click on "Options", then "Force Update", and then log and afterwards. Or 2) You could just delete the .minecraft folder and launch the installer.

This doesn't contain a virus. I have used it a ton of times, on my mac and my pc. No virus.
If you are talking about the adf.ly, then those are just stupid ADS.
Prove to me that it is a virus.

Just to let you know, I include the source code to the program inside the zip file. Go ahead and check the source, you will find no viruses.
It's probably just adf.ly, and like other people have said, the problem is gone now
When I try to backdate Minecraft, it says my version is not vanilla. I deleted my whole .minecraft folder and reinstalled it from minecraft.net. When I ran MCNostalgia again, it displayed the same error message. Can you help? I have MCNostalgia 2.1.0 and minecraft 1.2.3.
For all those who are having issues with MCNostalgia saying your minecraft is not vanilla, try deleting everything in your patches folder, and run MCNostalgia again. If that doesn't work, delete your copy of MCNostalgia, download a fresh copy of it and try again.

Would you care to provide some more information?
In any case, the program doesn't seem to be working properly when anyone tries to downgrade to 1.0.0.
If you downgrade to 1.2.2 then to 1.0.0 it works, but you cannot go from 1.2.3 to 1.0.0
Have you been able to get any mods working with it? I haven't had any luck installing the version of modloader for 1.0.0
