lenny1880, this should be fixed now, try the updated links. I had to specify additional build dependencies for the binary version which wasn't obvious on my own system since I already had them installed.
Hey hetmankp, it's me again. I'm running into another problem right now.
Whenever I start the tool, it shows up half a second and then directly closes again.
Nonetheless, I managed to take a screenshot and it says "Error: must specify command".
Using the Win32 version of MCMerger 0.8.0.
I recently upgraded to win10 64bit, maybe that's part of the problem?
Are you just double-clicking the EXE? That won't do anything, you need to open a DOS window and run it from the command line with the options you want. That's what it means by "must specify command".
At least I think that's how it works, it's been years since I used this program.

To tell them how to live is to prevent them living.
Not sure if it supports the latest file format or not. Make a backup of your world and try it on that, it might work, or might say it can't or it might corrupt the world, so be sure to make a backup first.

Not sure if this thread is still active, but I figured I'd try. I'm trying to update a suuuuper old world of minecraft (beta 1.4) and I'm getting this error:

You need to convert the world by loading it in 1.2 or newer first (I'd recommend not going past 1.6.4 for this); this should not generate any new terrain, only convert it from the MCRegion to Anvil file format (newer versions may still have a built in converter but they have a much more complex biome system which will cause more odd biome changes; since pre-Anvil worlds did not save biomes with chunks this means that you'll get changes in the biome, such as snow in a previously warm area and vice-versa; MCEdit can be used to fix this be changing the biome. 1.7 may have a more favorable biome layout around the area you generated so you could try both and use the better one; if you know the seed you can use AMIDST to see them without having to convert the wold, which can take a while depending on its size).

Now it works flawless! Tested with a MC 1.9.4 Map and MCMerger 0.8.0
Thank you for your great tool & sry for the late answer!

TheMasterCaver's First World - possibly the most caved-out world in Minecraft history - includes world download.
TheMasterCaver's World - my own version of Minecraft largely based on my views of how the game should have evolved since 1.6.4.
Why do I still play in 1.6.4?
