What i dont understand is why in other peoples computers it works but mine it doesnt... its strange... the world runs perfectly fine i cant understand.. myabe if i try to run it in my other computer... idk going to try it

YOU GOTTA BE KIDDING ME dude !! I just took my pendrive with the saved world and AMIDST, installed the snapshot and... that thing worked, i saw the world and the new biome layout (which IMHO, sucks a lot).. but well, it worked... the problem is that i dont play mincerfat there for several reasons, even if its a good comp, im using the onboard which MC doesnt likes much... plus its my work computer anyways... Well, i know this one has XP, the other one Win7... maybe its that ? Idk... just guessing. I would like to solve the problem if we can and see whats wrong...
I can't seem to find any problems with it. The file seems to be functioning just fine. There's gotta be something wrong with your Minecraft install. Keep in mind that AMIDST pulls from your appdata folder to find your copy of Minecraft. The only thing I can think of is a fresh install of Minecraft.
wow! this best! no more flying around a world looking for a biome, no more thinking that which huts are super rare, no more thinking any of the new biomes are rare! this is just wow!edit; it would be even more better if u could some how make it to where u can zoom in even more to where u can see the blocks. not the chunks (it is in chunks right?) and to where admidst and minecraft are linked or something so that when u move in minecraft u can see ur self moving in amidst, or when u change ur postion in amidst then u move there in minecraft. that way u dont have to exit and save. idk if this is even possible but it would be cool if u could do that! thx! i give u a 6 stars out of 5!! ( not just a diamond, but 9 diamonds!!)

We are often trying to find interesting seeds to invest our time on, whether servers or SP, and knowing the spawn location while doing the "quick-searching" AMIDST allows without actually creating the world can help us in making those decisions, especially with scripts like people are starting to make.
And of course; being able to also change the spawn location for an already existing map while checking it out in your tool is the perfect complement to that. Sometimes the default spawn location of a map is bland but an area a couple thousand or even 20k away is incredible! Instead of having to give up the old server map they could just relocate to a whole new part of the old one, which they only discovered because of AMIDST! Then, if modded, they could still "portal" to their old domain when needed then go back to the new world while actually always remaining on the same map.

lol. 1. use /spawn point , u can just change the spawn, its simple. 2. ever heard of minecraft wold editor? its a bit like mcedit but not in game, any ways u can change ur spawnpiont there also, and with mcedit its cool to make really big stuff fast and stuff, i used once to make a castle, well just for the walls cuz instead of placing each block down, its just like, bam! and u dont have 2 fly all the way over to where u put it! thx!

Hey Skidoodle, everytime I run this on my Mac (10.7.5) it says "Found profile selection, but unable to locate minecraft.jar." I have all my minecraft profiles (one for snapshots, another for 1.6.2, and another for 1.6.2 with MCpatcher) actually stored on the desktop. Is there someway I can tell the app where to look? I tried the Jar, too, just in case.

It's not that simple. The generation is closely tied to when Minecraft creates the world itself. With villages/temples, they have a "is this spot valid?" kinda thing that only requires biome data.

Kinda. The problem I've had to with forge-based mods is that Forge itself doesn't load correctly from AMIDST. AMIDST only needs to call a few key methods. (From IntCache, WorldType and GenLayer if you looked it up in MCP) But it currently does not support additional custom biomes. If I saw anyone using a mod that didn't break when I attempt to load it into AMIDST, I would gladly support it.
Finally got around to testing the new alpha, seems to work OK. Reads all the players on a multiplayer map and you can jump to their locations, but it still "double clutches" when you hit the OK button in that dialog. It flashes the map and reloads the dialog then you have to hit the OK button again and then the dialog goes away and the map changes to the location of the player you picked. Not a big deal, but I thought I'd mention it.

yaDUDE! I love this program, it has been helping me so much, but I recently ran into a problem and got some ideas and wanted to know what you thought about them. I really like the view and all, but maybe a color key would be nice. I also have wanted a pure Bryce mesa biome but cant figure out how to do it and thought it would be cool if this program had the ability to change biomes, and then to regent he world so that the terrain gets rebuilt. I hope that you could do this, and I really love how you keep this up to date, whenever I get on I want to see my world and with you I can.

When i use the Amidst that works for 1.6.2 (2.1) it says: "Unable to find minecraft.jar, please locate it", Does this have something to do with the servers and logins and being offline?
Been using Amidst almost from the beginning, it's an invaluable resource.
With the number of biomes increasing, I'd love the ability to visually sort them... Perhaps a checkbox for each type of biome that would color the checked biomes while leaving the unchecked ones greyed out. Would make it much easier to find the biomes you're looking for.
