a modded jar works fine if it doesn't use a mod that changes key points of generation, things like the mindcrack pack work fine with extrabiomes disabled
Could you please make an FTB compatible version of this? Or at least an ExtraBiomesXL version. Please respond if you decide to do do so. I would be soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo happy if you did.
you aparently don't uderstand the difference between mods, and apps, mods, need to be tailored to the game version, due to code changes in-game, apps, need to be tailored to major changes that they run off of, like this one requires a certain generation code, and whenever that changes, it needs to be updated

windoge 8 has the saddest excuse for a BSOD, it just tells you the type of error, no stop code, no nothing, just "something went wrong, all your unsaved work has now been lost to the void that is volatile memory"
Alright, could you update this for 1.4.7, or if there is nothing you can do to make it more accurate for 1.4.7 then try to make it a bit more accurate in general?
Used this a lot a while back, and have only recently gotten back into Minecraft. Previously everything that it said was somewhere was exactly where it said it would be, and I had no issues.
With this version... It has been right 1 out of 6 times, and I fear that'll be one of 7 or 8 once I expand my search a bit. And by wrong I don't mean out by a couple of co-ordinates, I mean what it said was in a place simply didn't exist. 4 NPC villages so far have no existed in places they supposedly should, and 1 of 2 desert temples.
Love the program, and when it works its great, but if its accuracy is this low then I really can't use it; I'd be better off just walking in a general direction and hoping to find something.
Just tried out AMIDST. Definitely it's pretty useful when I want to preview a map before creating it. Faster than creating one in MC and exploring it for a hour, while this tool preview an area almost 10 km large in 3 seconds.
I'd like to suggest a thing, for us that just want to preview the map and don't want to spoil much: structures, villages and other finds should be hidden by default when I open a map. If I want to see them, I'd turn the layer on. Villages could have a layer of its own.
AMIDST is not working for me. . . would anyone care to tell me the nearest couple of mushroom biomes? Preferably mushroom islands but any kind works. My seed is 5691688216479295953.
Version 2.0.43---- Works with 1.8.1, all 1.9-pre, 1.0, 1.1, 12w03a - 12w08a, 1.2.4-1.2.5, 12w19a - 12w27a, 1.3-pre, 1.3.1, 1.3.2, 1.4.2, 1.4.5, 1.4.6, 1.4.7, 1.5.0.

hi, don’t you think you should tell us that you use google analytics in the code?
that’s a privacy consideration you should allow your users to make.
btw, at one point you get a method and do the following:
t = m.getReturnType();
...
if (t.equals("void")) { System.out.println("Version 1.4.2 or newer found."); }
i don’t think this can wok, as Class and String are uncomparable.
at another place you call typeDump.replace("[", "-"), and discard the result: strings aren’t modified in place, so you have to do typeDump = typeDump.replace("[", "-") if you want that to do something.
This program is very useful for my survival world because I've been trying to find a village for trading. btw nice game i would buy it but I only have an Ipod.

I'm just trying to load my world and it's not working.
I'm having this problem too. I used it a couple days ago and it worked fine. Launched today and every time I try to load from file or enter a seed I just get the white screen like I didn't do anything at all.

I understand some people are running into accuracy issues, however, I'm having trouble finding the cause.
To the people asking for a FTB version: I've looked into it, however I'm not sure there's any easy way for me to achieve something like that.
Edit:
Released.
FTB isn't vanilla. Making some version for modded MC would be a waste of time, not to mention, almost impossible, considering the wide variety of mods used by most people.

I would just like to see a copy of Amidst that works with ExtrabiomesXL, it doesn't need to work with FTB.

Fair enough, but displaying volcanos and such is likely a pain. I don't know how his code works, but I think it's just running the generation code for biomes and strongholds, and nothing else. Problem is that if you want a version for EBXL, you need its source code, and a lot of time.
Okay, guys who it's not working for... I reverted back to 1.4.7 and it seems to work again. So the version of Minecraft you're playing seems to be the cause of the problem. If you backed up your old .jar before updating (which is always a smart idea!) you can just swap them out.
If not, you can try something like MCNostalgia to rollback the version or just wait for an AMIDST update, I guess.
he is, he has an applet for it
use the dedicated applet, not the jar

Also, I miss the spawn point being displayed too.
