Not working? i have a atleast a 15x15x4 room and it still says no...
the output depends on only your x and z coordinate (and the world youre in). it doesnt account for y coordinate, or any room dimensions.
so what you need to do is (if you dont want to use the online tool for some reason) walk around until it says yes. build your room there (below or at y=16.6). if you do your ground only where it says yes, you should get a 16x16 room for one chunk (height can be 2).
but remember that it still takes very long with only one floor. just wait long enough (preferrably overnight), they dont despawn like other mobs if you dont move around. so eventually slimes will mass up if you stand still.
Now my minecraft is at 1.7.2
I recently found that in my mine theres two places where slimes can spawn
I guess they are no so rare anymore :biggrin.gif:
Will this tool work with Alpha generated worlds? I know the terrain generation was changed between Alpha and Beta, but I don't know if the algorithm that determines what chunks will spawn slimes is related to the terrain generation or if it's entirely separate.
I'm going to test it regardless, but I thought I'd see if you had any insight on the front end.

These are indeed troubling times when the slaves not only wear their shackles with pride, but also mock the free.

The room you built is useless. Walk around the surface until you find an area that says "yes," then and only then do you build a room for slimes. Don't build a room unless the tool says "yes."

This absolutely works, I found a huge area where they are spawning, but all you have to do is move away from the spawn site and idle for a couple of minutes or maybe even hours...None have dropped anything yet; but hopefully they will soon.
Awesome tool!

Tested this last nigh and it does seem to work with Alpha generated worlds.

Nevermind, had the F lock key pressed, so F3 wasn't working. Now to get started hunting slimes!
I've been playing for some time, use F3 option A LOT. I know my way around Minecraft and installing mods. I understand the premise of slime hunting and would love to get started-
However, was there a change recently that removed the F3 debug mode? I can't seem to use it. F1 works, and removes the UI. But F3 does nothing. Is this mod supposed to give access back to the F3 debug mode? If so, I might have installed it wrong.
Im trying to use the website but all I get is a big white square. I've tried inputting the seed and uploading the file, but it doesn't work. What am I doing wrong?
I know it says to leave the bottom x and z coords blank but try typing in the ones youre standing on and then in distance, type 64 or 144 and you'll see some green squares pop up. i also found that i have to give the result window a minute to render out.
I put in the number manually (my friend gave it to me cause its on our multiplayer server which he runs, not sure if he's right, he said its 333333 but everybody else's is waaaaay longer than that, perhaps he's using the wrong number?) and i put in the coordinates and distance and hit generate, and the program clearly runs because my web page loads a little and displays "slime map" but no map appears below that or above it or wherever it should...... any idea why?
i went thru several of the "yes" chunks and dug out lots of space, below level 16, and lit up caves above it. i waited hours and hours about 28 blocks above the platform. not a single slime spawned. i used f3, and x ray mod, i can confirm not a single slime spawned in that chunk.
then i went to my other server where there was a confirmed chunk that could spawn slimes (because there was a mess of them always spawning in a cave), and it said "no". and same with chunks that said "yes" on the ONLINE app. neither of these seem to work for me.
so are you sure this tool and mod works with 1.7.2?
thats weird. according to my testing and those of others, it works.
here's a few things that could cause this:
- seed typo
- seed was changed on server (not sure if or how this works though) changing the position of the chunks while leaving the previously generated map unaffected
- for Single player: dont be on peaceful
- only parts of the cave you mentioned are on a slime spawning chunk or they got there from another cave (from above?)
- you somehow got the coordinates/boundaries wrong. watch the tutorial if youre unsure
Thanks man! It really works! But I recommend to make the room 3 blocks high starting from layer 12. Put the room full of torches and block the doorway so it closed. Hope this helps :DDDD!
well, 3 or 2 high depends on whether you want to exploit the spawn bug of big slimes or not. for 3 high id also recommend one layer at 12.6 and one at 16.6 (f3 coordinates) if you mean that.
I'm not good at Englisch so I don't understand where I have to start digging.
Can someone plz tel me in simple englisch how I know where I have to start digging? Where they spawn?
The green areas where they can spawn how do I know where they are???
Press f3 and look at your X and Z coordinates. Compare them to the coordinate system of the map. Green areas spawn slimes. You might also want to watch the video tutorial which I posted under the download link.
Thanks so much for this thread, I've played minecraft since alpha and I've never had slimes spawn in my worlds. Of course, it never really bothered me until now because they didn't have a use. After following your guide and making a spawn room for them, I had a family of slimes after waiting for just 30 mins :biggrin.gif: Thanks so much!
thank you and everyone else for the feedback :smile.gif:

It just shows me an empty graph. I don't know why.
Edit: Nevermind. Just had to put in boundaries. Lol.

Thanks for linking me and thanks again for making the tool for us!

My room...Slime and mobs have spawning all day in here.

the slime spawning chunks are unique for every world (ie its seed)
i'll look into it.

Also , the site doesnt seem to work, when press "Search for Slimes!", nothing happens. Why is this?
1.6.6 works 100%. not sure about older versions, but my guess is, that it works starting from the version slime spawning was changed last (1.3 or so).
seems to be compatible.
let me know if youre having problems though.
