INTRODUCTION
So some months ago i found some mods to be hard to install and i always crash my minecraft game which in turns made me delete my save accidentally as well. Since i know there must be someone like me, i've decided to make an easy to use mod installer maker with my free time after exam.
What does this utility do? you might ask, well this tool creates stand-alone installers with a very user friendly graphical user interface. This tool is aimed at developers to create "one-click" installers of their mods so people could install their mods easier which will also make the mods themselves more popular.
This utility used to also include modloader and other crucial mods, but i've read the forum rules and realised i am not supposed to include them, so i've remove them and i am truly, really sorry for what i did.
here's a screenshot of the installer maker and the installer itself, it's tested fully working in windows 7 x86 and x64 and windows xp 86, this application works ONLY on windows computers, currently

TROUBLESHOOTING
note: feel free to ask questions by either pm-ing me or posting a comment, i read them all
how to use troubleshooter:
1. look for your problem
2. try solution 1
3. if it doesnt work, move on to solution 2 and so on
4. if nothing worked, pm me or post a comment with the description of your problem
Problem 1
Problem: I can't get this to run on my computer/ it doesn't work
Solution 1: you might not have the microsoft .net framework 4 installed, there's a link to the mmicrosoft .net framework on my downloads section
Solution 2: try relaunching the application again for a couple more times after you've installed the microsoft .net framework
Problem 2
Problem: after i hit compile, there were nothing, no installer in the folder i selected
Solution 1: this is an unknown bug that needs to be fixed, but it seems like as long as you dont create a new folder whilst compiling the installer, it works, so dont create a new folder, select an existing directory when compiling
Solution 2: some library contents of minemodder installer maker might be missing, try redownloading it and remember to unzip
How it works/Info about this program
Created with: This program is created with Microsoft Visual Basic 2010
The program is written in visual basic and batch script, it also relies on 7za.exe, an open source command-line tool (which is included in ever download of minemodder, dont worry it doesnt require any installing) to zip and unzip files
how does the minemodder installer work:
at the moment you hit the install button, this is what happens
1. program checks if minecraft is installed and has been ran for at least once
2. program checks and see if it has all the source zip files intact
3. program checks and see if all the batch functions inside the source library are intact
4. program creates a backup of minecraft.jar and names it minecraft_mmbackup.jar
5. program unzips minecraft.jar
6. program checks if META-INF exists and if it does, deletes it
7. program adds jar files into the unzipped minecraft.jar
8. program adds files to the bin folder
9. program adds files to the resources folder
10. program adds files into the mods folder
11. program adds files into the .minecraft folder
12. program zips minecraft.jar
13. program tells user it has completed installation
how the minemodder installer maker works:
this happens at the moment you presses the compile button
1. program checks if you gave a name for your mod
2. program checks if all it's library are intact
3. program asks user to select output folder
4. program copies minemodder installer template into selected folder
5. program adds files from your selected folders into the minemodder installer template
6. program renames the installer.exe
7. program checks if user wants a zip, if yes then creates a zip of the installer
8. program tells user it has completed

Great job man!! from the looks of it it sounds great, does it work with the new update?? i dont have a clue if it is tied to the game or not....
thanks
**EDIT** does it delete meta inf too??
it does not delete meta-inf but i could add the option, this is not a modloader-like thing, this is just an installer and when i designed this, i sort of expected people to have modloader installed actually...
it works with any version of minecraft (since 1.1) and the recent update has be tested on minecraft 1.7.2 to be working
the only thing that matters is your mod's compatibility.
EDIT: sorry for long post, it is not tied to the game

thanks for the answer.... i would love to be able to delete meta inf automaticly, and err, when i doubleclick the exe nothing happens... im on xp
**EDIT** HAHAHAHA... oook.... can someone please scan this with a virus scanner before i download?? noticed a lack of one....
weird though if nothing happened... should at least have a pop up saying "executable failed to initialise" or something similar, will look into it and possibly add a troubleshooting section for my post
EDIT: I THINK I'VE FOUND WHY!! as you may know, this application is made with visual basic 2010 and it requires the microsoft .net framework to work properly, i tested the application on windows xp with no .net framework and it didnt work either, but it worked after i installed the framework! here's a link to the .net framework
i might not have 4, i may have 4.5, also, uhh.... my computer kept doing wierd things after norton thought it was a virus.... "explorer.exe attempt to send command terminate window" target norton.exe or whatever... repeaditily... then norton crashed, but it said "to complete removal please restart your computer" i did and it stoped... i checked my log and it started spamming me RIGHT AFTER i clicked on your exe, donno if it was a fluke or not, some program are known to do that.... same with norton crashing..
seems like a great program though, i might try it again later :biggrin.gif:
but really, i would add the ability to remove meta-inf if you want, or a seperate "meta inf remover" application
nothing else wierd happened besides that and after norton removed it it stoped... wierd....
i need to install a virtual machine for these things, so if i get a virus, it cant mess up my pc.... i dont think that your program has a virus in it, but i dont know whats up.
ok... i should find a way and fix this... or (at least) everyone with norton wont be able to use my program and everyone will think that this is a virus...
i'll probably add the function to delete meta-inf before the end of sunday along with a backup/mod managing system im working on as an update
be wary, this is aimed for mod developers to create mod installers of their mod
