Sorry that you didn't like it. Minecraft Structure Planner is a really neat tool and it does a lot of cool things, but IMO Spritecraft is a little better for converting images to Minecraft blocks (that is its sole purpose, afterall). I think there are a couple of things worth noting:
1) You don't need to go through PayPal. The tool is "Pay What You Want" - if you do not think it is worth paying for, you can simply enter "0" and get the full version without having to mess with PayPal. Sorry for the confusion here.
2) It looks like you used the free version, which supports sprites up to 60 pixels, so it had to shrink down your image. For larger non-sprite images, the Full version should be used. Here is an example from the Full version using default options but with dithering turned off (click to see the full size):
3) Spritecraft has a few other useful features to note: a) supports any texture pack, :cool.gif: select which blocks can be used, c) dithering.
To all those offering feature suggestions such as the grid and a feature to convert to an MCEdit schematic- Thank You! We could really use this kind of feedback. Right now we are working up updating the website a bit, so that it will include a list of features and such that will be in future releases. We'll put these and other feature suggestions on the site. Expect updates in the future!
Good things
-Supports any texture pack you want and uses their different colors appropriately, which Structure Planner cannot do.
-Much faster at generating an image than structure planner
-Can toggle between side and top view for blocks that are different in that regard.
Bad Things
-Can't export a schematic
-No grids.
-Missing the brown wool.
That's about it. Pretty solid tool you've got here.
Thanks for the feedback Foo. The three bad items you mentioned are definitely things that are on our roadmap to add. Hopefully we can have some news about that soon!

There was no confusion, going through PayPal to access something even for zip, zero, nada
provides you with information about me you don't have a need for.

You know this is a minecraft forum right? What in world with I do with that output? 80920 blocks,
when I only wish to use a palate of 64x64 (4096 blocks). No replies about laying it on the ground,
you would need a map to see it, defeating my intentions of it being viewable.
Minecart Structure Planner did what I wanted to do in 60 blocks - I matched your output to be fair.
Your information about Java settings is wrong as well. Java can only use about 1585 megs of
contiguous memory (no spaces). I would think your running on the default 2m trying to use 2048m.
Allocating more memory also will not increase the quality of the output image, it would just make the
output faster.

You still are confused. YOU DO NOT HAVE TO ENTER IN YOUR PAYPAL INFORMATION! Just enter "0" and then your done. No information will be taken.
i just noticed, for the side view you shouldnt have it make anything that would go into the void, because blocks in the void are invisible you wouldnt even see them but top view is fine because the world is infinite... kind of
EDIT: just found a little bug, was looking for my texture pack and i put %appdata% in the file name box, which normally would send me to the roaming file and then it would show minecraft right there then i would get ther terrain.png file right?? wrong instead it just closed the terrain.png selector and then it froze... now its frozen i cant click the buttons

Haha yeah I was going to say, you definitely are confused. If you enter zero you are given a direct download. No PayPal page is ever loaded and no information is requested.
BadActor, I'm not sure what your vendetta is against us. We are giving something away something for free and asking effectively nothing for the full version unless people are feeling generous enough to contribute to a tool that we put a lot of effort into. If you prefer MSP, that's your call but we feel like Spritecraft is better at what it does and others seem to agree. You can set your output size to whatever you want in the full version to get nearly the exact same output as MSP too. Also for better results you could try scaling your image down beforehand so that 1 pixel = 1 block.

A socket puppet? Just going through (using) paypal alllows this, and you know it.
Wow dude, have you read anything in this thread? If you enter zero, PayPal will not be loaded/used/linked. I repeat, you can get the full version without using PayPal at all by entering zero. You don't seem to be understanding this simple fact.
Dude, this is just, AMAZING!
I remember once thinking how good it would be to have something like this. You are a god.
EDIT: 1 little problem is the fact that you cant really build the creations in-game because, well, i personally, cant exactly see, for example, how wide mario's hat is in blocks. If you could somehow make a block by block grid that goes over the top of the picture in the options or something, that would be awesome :biggrin.gif:
if it is here I must be blind I have all the newest java updates installed (minecraft needs java...) But I cannot get this thing to load. I haven't been able to successfully launch it with command prompt. Could I suggest coding with C, C Sharp, or C++?
