Also, can you tell me exactly which operating system you use, and what your hardware is like (how much RAM? what CPU? which graphics card and how much video RAM)?The old versions are still available for download, you can just take one of the URL's from the first post and replace the 0.4 with 0.3.2 (the previous version). You'll lose a lot of functionality though, and you will have to cancel the upgrade every time you start it.

It very slow, i cann't work with map. I use windows 7, i5 650, gtx 460 with 1gb and 4 gb RAM. I configure programme and it use 1500mb RAM memory. And there aren't some lags on previously versions of programme.

I typed this as a response to Cudd, but then realised I had misunderstood him. Since it might be useful for people who may be wondering about lag in Minecraft on WorldPainter-generated maps I decided to post it here anyway:
There are several things that can cause maps to be laggy in Minecraft:
Being too high. Any maps that are higher than the standard 128, but especially 512 or higher, may cause Minecraft to lag badly, depending on how powerful your computer is.
Using "populate". When you use the Populate layer, or check the "let Minecraft populate the entire terrain" checkbox, Minecraft has to populate each chunk when it is first loaded, which may cause it to lag badly. This should only happen the first time the chunks are loaded though. One thing you can do to get past this quickly (in Singleplayer) is to press F3 and then Esc, which will cause Minecraft to load and populate the chunks at a much higher pace. You will know it is done when the "chunk updates" number at the top of the screen falls to zero.
Having lots of flowing water and/or lava. Having lots of water or lava that is actively pouring down or spreading in the chunks that are loaded will cause Minecraft to lag, at least until it has stopped spreading and has stabilised. Note that the water or lava does not have to be visible, it could be in underground caverns beneath your feet for instance. If there are many large caverns around, and you have either used Populate or Resources (so there is water and lava underground) this could be the cause of the lag. In that case you have no choice but to wait until all the water and lava has stopped pouring down and spreading.
Having lots of visible leaf blocks. Medium to high intensity WorldPainter-generated forests have lots more leaf blocks than standard Minecraft forests, which may cause Minecraft to slow down, depending on your hardware. You can mitigate this by setting the graphics to "fast" instead of "fancy".
The size of the map (horizontally) has nothing to do with lag, as Minecraft always only loads the chunks around your position.

Could you try adding this parameter to your worldpainter.vmoptions file (on a line of its own):
-Dsun.java2d.d3d=false
...and see if that makes a difference? Java uses Direct3D by default on Windows to accelerate its graphics, but sometimes this backfires and actually causes it to become slower. This option turns the use of Direct3D off.

I'm not sure if this will address the problem but when I work with large maps I get lag after zooming out to a certain extent. I try to do as little as possible while zoomed out and zoom in to do most of the work.

When you export it, you choose what it fills the underground with. The default is STONE (pure smoothstone all the way through), but you can set it to various other things, one of which is RESOURCES, which creates ore veins and such.

Worked well. I was able to zoom out on a 40 x 40 map and work with no lag.
I know I'm nagging you, but do you have an ETA on the ore brush? I'm transitioning my server to a new map (made in worldpainter), we are using a temp map right now, so the server population is kind of in limbo :tongue.gif:. In order to fully realize my vision for this map, I've come to realize that It's pretty much going to require an ore brushy type tool.
I'm wondering how far along this feature is, or if it's still conceptual?
I was in the process of exporting a map which I created with World Painter, and estimated the time to export it to take about fifteen hours in total. I was around three-fourths of the way done when my electricty blacked out. Essentially what I want to ask is if I need to restart the export from the start, or if my progress was saved. I know that what the export did accomplish is saved in the minecraft/saves folder, however I need to know if the export would pick up where it left off. Hope to hear from you soon!
