This isn't really much of a tool, just a thing I made in Visual Basic 6 today (March 19) when I was bored. Like the name suggests, it's used to calculate the number of half-hearts you lose for the number of blocks you fall, which saves you the time of investigating the matter yourself. It still has a few (small) problems in it, but overall it's open source.
Minecraft Falling Damage Science
Falling Damage isn't calculated with the number of blocks fallen from, it's on how long you stay in the air.
If you can somehow speed up the process of falling, you can save hearts.
Sorry, I might not have gotten the source code up to date. Will fix that as soon as I have more time (which means, when there's less school/homework, when I'm done coding this Rich Text Editor, and when I finish taking apart my Windows 95 computer and putting it back together with a better graphics card, CPU, RAM and Windows 7 Home Premium.)
Also, it only works for Alpha and Beta, not Survival Test.
I forgot to tell, you: there's a password to the zip file. It's "falldamage" (without the quotes). I put it there to prevent bots from downloading it automatically and extracting it themselves. Don't know why, just seemed appropriate. *edit, I removed the password, it was kinda unnecessary, and people who download it from sourceforge wouldn't know it has a password.
For some randomly unknown reason, Norton seems to reject the file. I made a scan using VirusTotal, I that a few of them rejected it, but I SWEAR that I don't know how to write viruses, just ignore the warning and restore the file. (PS. I'm not an internet troll)
I wonder why Antivirus programs always seem to reject my programs.
Changelog:
v1.3_01, Initial release
v1.3_02, Removed Password: it was unnecessary.
v1.4_01, Newer release, added icon, fixed the negative bug, and instead of Msgboxes, it shows the warnings right onto the output box.]
v1.5_01 Not released, but added loads of stuff. It's in the README.
v1.5_02 The newest version, made the command button look prettier.
v?.?_0?, Working on another project, related to this one, but I intend to phase this one out.
*Edit* (with some interesting things here)
Made a bunch of changes, and redirected the download link to the correct page. Also, the jar isn't mine, just put it there so I can redownload it if I need it. Currently working on another project involving Minecraft. (It's another Minecraft Calculator/Reference jiggy of some sort.) )This might be delayed by yet another project, which is a Rich Text Editor. Has no purpose but since I'm the only one in my entire grade who can code efficiently, I can use it with pride that I made it myself.)
Also, interestingly, even though some of the below forum replies says something about viruses, I noticed 26 internets on my signature. Doesn't really matter how many internets I get, but it's cool.
Not sure if this is a viro or not, although Notron will always think something is Acting Suspicious if it can't gather a URL from the place you got it.
Similar issue with my zombie xp farm, they drop and take consistent damage, but if I leave it as it is right now, it takes 2 punches, and if I move it one down, they die. Half slabs don't work either.
