No this does not update mods, this is a repository of mods (or a collection) put into a program that allows people to install mods without modifying the minecraft.jar, the mods are placed there by the modders themselves after they send lahwran an index containing certain things that will allow the user to install a certain mod.
so let me get this straight... this mcpkg can UPDATE mods???? because there is many mods that wont be updated within a week sometimes... like *mmbrrhhgg* Mo' Creatures...
that's a planned feature, yes.

but as he said, it doesn't do that yet. I'm hoping to talk to daxnitro about integrating his badass installer system with mcpkg. I'll do it anyway just for fun, but I won't share it or release it unless he gives permission.

im a noob so what does this mean? thanks in advance :biggrin.gif:
Lawhran, could you please publish a specification for your 'package index' format?
I am also writing a mod package manager and I would like to make it compatible with as many package formats as possible.
If you are interested in co-operation on this challenging problem, PM me.
Does 'genlargerepo.py' implement all of your format's options?
Also, do the mod packagers host the mods themselves, or do you host them with the repository

no, genlargerepo is already deprecated. I'm just starting on mcpkg-python this week. if you want the old repo index format, go to mcpkg-old and read the files there.

On github repository is not updated since last year, the author does not appear on the site since May 19.
It is a pity. I am also developing a similar program (also in python) and wanted to cooperate but it seems will not come out
