We've helped many already and in every case it has been something simple that was overlooked. It really isn't as complicated as it may seem.
And so far running from a batch file has worked for everyone when double-clicking mycraft.jar fails. There are just slight differences in what you need to put into your batch file depending on your system.
It is therefore much easier to help you live in IRC chat and we can catch things you might be overlooking or doing wrong easier that way.

nullpointerexception is a random crash that is built into java to frustrate the user at a crucial moment
LOL JK- it is a random crash that has no apparent cause or way of preventing.
make sure you are in the right folder.
It will tell you what folder you are in.
To change it, type "cd <folder name>"
So it will likely start in your home folder, so type "cd Desktop/MyCraft" if MyCraft is on your desktop.
Then run java -jar MyCraft.jar
Ok so i did this and it said:

It looks like your jar is corrupt, try downloading it again from the link.

What i must do?
You've put the wrong minecraft.jar file in the lib folder.
Make sure it's the minecraft launcher, not the game itself.

Is the smooth lighting Mr. M's?
Smooth lighting uses the same method as Mr M's, however it is not the same mod.
If you've made a mod for MyCraft, place the class files in the mods folder.
If you've got another mod, install it like you normally would.
Built-in mods are available in the menu.

I have a bunch of mods from the forum i want to install. Doesn't Mycraft install it for u? Like i place it in the mod folder and when i launch mycraft its already there on the mod screen and i can just toggle it on an off?

Unless the mod is specifically for MyCraft, it will not install the mod for you.
MyCraft only effects MyCraft mods. Although it may end up installing other mods for you in the future.
plz i need help i put my minecraft.jar in the lib folder then try to run mycraft
but it just says plz put minecraft launcher jar file in the lib folder wat do i
do?
Here is a sure fire test that have the correct minecraft.jar in your lib folder.
Doubleclick that minecraft jar you put in lib. If you then see the default minecraft launcher screen then you have the correct minecraft.jar there. Otherwise delete it and redownload the right one from the link provided in the OP.

All right i've been thinking.. when life gives you lemons, don't make lemonade, MAKE LIFE TAKE THE LEMONS BACK. GET MAD! I DON'T WANT YOUR DAMN LEMONS! WHAT AM I SUPPOSED TO DO WITH THESE?
Awesomesauce. One problem. In the fly mode. When you try to land and ur like right above the ground. it kills you. Can you fix this?
This only happens in SMP. IT can't be fixed because it's server side.
The damage is determined based on how high you went.
So if you go super high up, and land really slowly on the same spot, you'll still die.
My advice, is only ever land higher than you started.

Should be fixed now.
