Using MCBackup.
Every time I type my username & password I get an "Incorrect username or password" error.
I've checked that my password works by logging in to minecraft.net.
Also, in case this is relevant, my password contains several "special" characters, numbers, and letters of both cases (caps/lower).
Help?
I'm not certain of it, but it is possible that logging script got bugged with the last updates.
Also, did you try simply copy-pasting the password into Minecraft?
I think you're probably right. Copy-pasting didn't work, though.
I don't think its a bug with Minecraft's code, more likely Cyborg Dragon's tool doesn't like special characters.
I don't know much about python or java though, so I'm probably wrong.
I'm trying to patch from beta 1.2 to beta 1.1_02, but when I run the patcher it just emptied out my entire minecraft.jar. Does this work with beta 1.2 yet? here's my log:

A noble gas walked into a bar. The waiter said "we don't serve your kind here."
The noble gas sat there and didn't react. (Woot, nerd jokes!)
Sticks, retrieve them from your assholes. No need to break down planks to get them anymore, as you are all clearly full of them. Anal storage however is not the recommended method, that's why Notch created chests.
Chests which have been modded by many people, and redistributed and game modifications under the canCopy international "parody" and likewise copyright adjunctions.
As per this thread itself, you people are so retarded not to understand what a diff patch is.
1. You need to own and have installed minecraft to use them, you have to have an updated version of the minecraft jar to downgrade to something.
2. Each patch file holds NO SOURCE CODE ITSELF, it only offers the ability infact to REMOVE code from the jars, to go back to previous jar versions. You CANNOT use a diff file UNLESS you have both the patch, and a VALID CURRENT VERSION OF MINECRAFT.
3. You people are retarded, notch made chests, stop storing sticks in your assholes. (to reiterate my introduction for those that don't quite understand it)
4. ???
5. PROFIT
Thank you for that explanation, though, I must admit, you were a bit harsh.
IDK about that Cy...I think he was just harsh enough to get it through the thick skulls flaming your post if they don't like it they can ask the forum admins to close their accounts since 90% of the stuff here is "ILLEGAL!1!!one!!!1!" by their standards you've stated repeatedly what you were thinking & they want to focus purely on the fact that people might think this was a good idea hence fun & should NOT be implemented.
I think it's a good idea & really if notch didn't like it I'm sure he'd drop you a cease & desist order & that you (most likely) would comply, correct?
to the ignoramuses out there who do nothing but flame GTFO if you can't post something constructive anywhere in your post.
Then you likely did something wrong. When it says unmodified, that includes texture packs and patchers. In any case, I'm working on an update that checksums the files before and after patching.

I have mac OSX. Python Version 2.8.8.1. I thought the error might be that Python is 2.8.8.1, not 2.7. I don't know what is wrong, seeing as I'm not a python programmer. Any ideas??
There isn't a python 2.8.8.1, you're thinking of wxPython. That may be the problem, but I'm not sure. The issue seems to be with it trying to open the config in order to save the settings.

Yes, I am thinking about wxpython, I didn't know they were different. But I still do have that problem
How it works for me is that I run python.py. It creates an app. When I try to use the app, it launches , then quits after about 1 milli-second... What's wrong??
