Alright, I downloaded the planner and got it working and everything, but, the screen remains blank for everything till I mouse over. Somethings won't come back. Please help.
Hi Rhoda, are you using Java 7? I had the same problem, switched to Java 6 and that fixed it.
I just wanted to throw in my encouragement to update structure planner with all the new blocks. I love using this program.
Some thoughts/suggestions:
It would be cool if you could rotate the plan in plan view. This would mostly be helpful when importing other schematics and orienting them differently for my wider screen.
I lack creativity and just like to build other peoples creations. It would be awesome if there was a measuring tape of some kind so I know how many blocks are in a row/column. I do count it out right now but for really long stretches this would speed things up.
I would like to be able to change the background color in plan view. This would be to make glass and white wool visible. :smile.gif:
I have also enjoyed using schematic2blueprint which can be found here. : Schematic2Blueprint : This program has items and entities as wells as orientation for them. Both programs have strengths that if combined would be amazing. I just wanted to through that out there.

When I try to open this, I get an error message
"The Registry Refers to a nonexistant Java Runtime Environment installation or the runtime is corrupted.
The System Cannot find the path specified."
I've got java 6 for 64 bit Windows, and supposedly Java 3D is now included in the download package for the Structure Planner itself. Does anybody have any idea what I've got wrong?
BTW- this is an incredible tool. I used it all the time on my old computer, but I haven't gotten it working on my new one yet.

Looks like you've managed to FUBAR your Java install unfortunately. Sounds like somewhere in your registry you have a reference to a JRE that no longer exists (possibly an x86 JRE if you're running 64 bit now, as the x86 version would be in 'Program Files (x86)/Java/...' rather than 'Program Files/Java/...' My best suggestion would be to try to uninstall all Java installs, then re-install the 64 bit version.
You're right in that you don't need to install Java 3D stand-alone any more. It's all included in the main MCSP JAR or executable that you downloaded.
Glad that you like the program. There'll be a new version coming out just as soon as I fix an incredibly annoying redraw bug in the 3D panel. The new version works with Java 7, and contains all of the new Minecraft 1.1 building blocks.
I can't open .xsp files into pixel art, only freeform. I saved it while working on some pixel art, but it won't let me load it into the pixel art settings, so I have to start all over.
I came across this in the FAQ telling how to allocate more memory to MSP.
2. You can run the Structure Planner with more memory. Note that if you're running 32-bit Java, the most memory you'll be able to allocate to the Structure Planner is 1536MB. You can allocate extra memory by running with the following command line:

I've been using your Minecraft Structure Planner for a couple of years now and I have to say that its one of the most handy Minecraft tools. I've used it to some degree for all of my builds. I read through the last few pages here and I know that you are aware of the issue. I am also experiencing the same problem as some have posted. I do not see the icons and such unless I pass the mouse cursor over it.
So here's some info, in case such a thing is helpful to you --
I am running Minecraft Structure Planner (jar version) v0.99.7 on Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit, 8 gigs RAM, and Java 64-bit version 7 update 3 (build 1.7.0_03-b05) with "-Xmx4096M" as my command parameter.
I look forward to your new release. I am sure I am not alone. Thank you for your efforts.

Now the whole world stands on the brink, staring down into bloody hell. All those liberals and intellectuals and smooth talkers - and all of a sudden, nobody can think of anything to say.
I just started another new build.. Each time I begin a new construction I realize how much I miss this handy tool. I've resorted to building on single-player to plan out a construction. It takes so much longer and can be frustrating at times. I had no idea how useful Minecraft Structure Planner really is until now.

Opera says its a dangerous web site, when I click the link... :s
What does it say is wrong? mywot.org says it's all right, and Firefox didn't pick up on any problems. Opera's content blocker always has had a real problem with false positives, as well.
Are there any plans to update to be compatible with 1.2.4? I have found this an outstanding and much needed tool in the past, yet now it is unable to fully read any schematic imported in. Over half the blocks are not there.
Like others I too can not get planner to work right. It all stays blank until I mouse over things and can't draw at all. http://img813.images...818/regiong.png
And for the record, I am using Java 6.
Same problem and it worked perfect a week ago. does it actually look at what MC version you have?

Definitely Java 7. I'm fixing the code now, and will hopefully have a release out in a couple of weeks.

Awesomesauce! I look forward to your update. :smile.gif:

Unfortunately I'm a complete noob to that stuff so I have no idea what to do to run that command line. If it makes any difference, I'm on OS X.
