Anyone have any help for me? When I try to load my map, the screen stays black. :/
I think it's because Minecraft has been updated to 1.3 and MCMap Live is still 1.2.xx
So does anyone have a fix/update for this?...
If you'll actually take the time to read a few posts above, it isn't some simple fix. The creator will fix it late next week. You have to be patient. I am. I can't even use Minutor either. I can wait.
Beta 1.3 breaks MCMap Live. An mcmap update is available but there are more changes than a simple drop in to make it work with Live. I am extraordinarily busy at the moment, so you can expect an update some time late next week.
Thank you for all of your hard work! This is by far my favorite mapper; it's fast, gorgeous, and way more flexible than other programs I've used. Can't wait for the update!
For people wanting to map now, you might be able to use the old region decompression tool that came with the mod to convert it into the old file system and open in a mapper. I haven't tested if this is really doable, but it might be worth a try.
Funny how I asked for a region update a couple weeks before the region mod is integrated into the official release. Waiting patiently now :smile.gif:
Though I'm kinda pissed that the update reseeded my maps fresh without my creations. I kinda wanted to start from scratch, but I would have rathered it be my choice than minecraft's. I think it saved my old region files in another folder but i'm too lazy to use the terminal right now, I'll just start over in the same world.
Any chance this is going to get fixed any time soon?

I just downloaded this and rendered one of my old backup worlds, and thought I'd share this sweet DK, rendered in your UI. Very well done, I eagerly await the update.
im dissapionted like the rest of the people in this thread that 1.3 broke it and i know that it might take you a while to make an update for it but im just wondering if theres an estimated time till the next update i dont care if its a couple of days or a couple of weeks im just curious. just in case, im not tryong to rage or troll just wondering if theres rough time we should expect an update.
HEY! This is great and all, but I cant get my worlds open that i converted for update 1.3... but the ones i havent converted, i cant play... unless i converted them... then i wouldnt be able to do the MC live... Help!
In the update can you make it be able to render maps with modded block? Because I'm doing this thing with my world where I take a screenshot of my world at the end of every month to see the differences and I just installed a new mod called more ores and now my world now generates new ores and the MCMap live program wont render my world because of the unfamiliar blocks. So please can you make it do what MCEdit does and just make the unidentified blocks a pink block or something? Not only would this help modders but it will help all users of MCMap live when new updates come out with new blocks so they can still look at their worlds even before you update it.
I find it weird, that i cannot see the main world I use, but the other maps do work.
Update please :biggrin.gif:
That would be because when you used your main world you would have updated that map. Each map has to be updated individually to the new chunk system or what ever 1.3 introduced, those that you haven't played with since the update, will still work in MCMap Live.
I myself am eagerly awaiting an update to MCML as well. Just after updating the game, I went on some rather epic walks and wanted to check out the map, only finding MCML wouldn't work :sad.gif: I wouldn't mind seeing the grouse landscapes I've discovered and the possibilities they entail. Completely understand the time requirement though!
Heya DK, I really really appreciate that you've come up with a fantastic looking Mac OS X based tool for Minecraft. Too often you find that cross-platform games (Blizzard games, for example) has Windows-only bias in its third party tools.
It's great to see the pendulum swing in the other direction for once.
I know the effort required to maintain a tool like this, so no rush on updating it for the 1.3 release of Minecraft. You'll get to it when you'll get to it, I'm sure. :happy.gif:
However, I would like to "pony up" for all the utility MCMap Live has provided in the past. Do you have a PayPal account? Have you set up a Donate box some place? I'd love to push some cash your way as a way of saying "thanks" for the all the effort.

Maybe it will help if you whine about it some more.

I eagerly await an update, but until then I mine randomly and blind, like Notch intended.
Thanks DK for all your hard work on this tool.
No rush, just saying. Thank you for the great port!

I laugh…to disguise the tears.
