Do you have to be a real computer savvy person in order to use MCMap Live? (I know nothing about this stuff)
I'm a complete newbie and don't know anything about this.
Do you need to have MCmap in order to use MCMap Live?
If there is anyone out there willing to explain how I use MCMap Live, please message me, and keep in mind I'm totally non computer literate. I just play minecraft and would love to learn more.
I read the posts in this thread and others, but I admit it all sounds very complicated and only for the computer smart people.
If you think I should just forget this cause it's way over my head, please tell me, thanks :smile.gif:

MCMap Live comes with mcmap. You don't need to do anything but doubleclick it, no computer savvy required at all. Just download it and try it out. I'm sure you'll be fine.
Thanks so much for making a mapping program that I don't have to be a computer programmer to use. I'm sure there are other programs like this out there, but this is the first one for me that worked fast and reliably
I hope this is updated soon, can't wait to use this for finding some new blocks :biggrin.gif:
I'll try to get out version 1.3.3 tonight. It'll just be a few quick fixes:
Adding the new blocks to the block finder, texture loader
Updating to the newest mcmap and Minecraft Biome Extractor
Fix white screen crash when trying to update biome data while biome colors are disabled
Updated with new blocks, newest versions of the bundled programs and a small bugfix with the biome extractor.
Link Removed or use the built-in update function.
With regards to the thread title, MCMap Live version 1.3.2 had over 10,000 unique downloads, most of which came directly from a previous version of the program, meaning that's a pretty accurate user count. Thanks guys for making this app so popular.
How exactly do I make it so that it uses the colors from a texture?
Open up Preferences in the MCMap Live menu.
Press the plus sign and select the terrain.png from the texture pack you want to use the colors from. If the texture pack is a zip file, unzip it and inside you'll find a file called terrain.png. That's the one you want.

Hmmmm. Yeah I did that but it just stays normal. Do you just highlight the texture once you have done that? or there some other way to switch?
I love this app so much! I've been using it for months and have always meant to drop a review- it's really just stupendous.
My favorite thing is that pinch-zoom works beautifully on the newer trackpads. It's such a fun way to explore my minecraft world!
The only feature I would love to see, and I honestly don't know that this would be possible, but remote access would be amazing. If it could use scp or something to read remote worlds, that would be incredible- right now, I zip it up and pull it down to my laptop, which works fine- and is probably for the best anyway :smile.gif:
Thanks so much for making an amazing and free program!

You should probably touch this egg, it is floating, therefore it is magical, therefore making you magical. Touch it.
This egg has a very serious skin infection. Only your clicks can gain enough money for it to have a much needed surgery.

Are birch trees included? Because I can't really see any variation in trunk colors in my map even though they are there.
Ah, no worries. :smile.gif:
Currency in Minecraft?! Hell no!
Anarcho-Communists of Minecraftia!

Just wish it was available for windows too :smile.gif:
