I really like this app, so I hope work on it continues.
I've went ahead and made an updated tiles.plist file for v1.0.0, which can be downloaded here: tiles.plist - MediaFire
To install:
Quit MCMap Live, if it is currently open.
Control-click on the MCMap Live.app
Select "Show Package Contents" in the contextual menu.
In the folder Contents > Resources, you will find tiles.plist. Replace this file with your newly downloaded file.
Close the windows and relaunch the app!
There still needs to be updates to all the color sets, but that's another issue to tackle. Enjoy!
Hey, I'll make up a new color file with the added tiles if someone can get me the "Default Colors" .txt file. It's not among the other color files in the app's package contents.

Here's a updated color set I made out of a mix from the current mcmap default colors and the minecraft biom set. MCMap's Default.txt
The best way to install it is similar to the updated tiles.plist.
Quit MCMap Live, if it is currently open.
Control/Right-click on the MCMap Live.app
Select "Show Package Contents" in the contextual menu.
Place the MCMap's Default.txt file in the folder Contents > Resources > Colors folder.
Close the windows, relaunch the app, set the colors to MCMap's Default, and be sure to set "Use Biome-Specific Colors" from the Biomes menu if possible.
Be sure you have the updated tiles.plist, which is quoted above, installed as well.
It's nice to be able to see things like the nether fortresses now. :smile.gif:

Using Biome-Specific Colors will fix the birch and pine tree colors.

Using Biome Specific colors pops up this dialog:
It then proceeds to "process" for an hour with no results / updates.
If that doesn't help then put the default plist file back in then and try generating the biome data within MCMap Live. Hopefully that allows it to succeed.
Afterwards place the updated plist file into the package contents again.

aha! I grabbed the latest version, and shoved it into show packagecontent->Contents->Resources. Worked like a charm!
Thanks for all the help! I'm glad to keep using this version. Absolutely the best, most intuitive, visualizer out there o_o
I *LOVE* this program. So handy for getting a good overview of your world. However, it's hanging when trying to use the slice/level slider. Is it still being developed and supported? If so, is there somewhere to submit crash logs for investigation? I'm using version 1.4.1 on OS 10.7.2. The "Save Slice Sequence" functionality works fine, but moving the slice slider hangs the program every single time once I hit level 100 or so. This is on a multiplayer world that is not very large (the entire world folder is under 40 MB). I tried the updated plist and default.txt files and it didn't make a difference.
(In regard to a mod that gives realistic animal genetics):
Would you really rather have bees that make diamonds and oil with magical genetic blocks?
... did I really ask that?
#1. The directions reported in-game by "What's My Light Level" do not agree with the directions reported by this tool when mapping. There is a 90 degree change. The values given by WMLL match sunrise in the east/set in the west; the values here do not.
#2. Attempting to rotate the map also slides it; I have to zoom out, find what I'm looking for, move it, and zoom back in.

I hope Donkey Kong didn't abandon us. We really need an update...

Really wish DK would post the 1.4.1 Source...

Seems like you need Minecraft Biome Extractor. Hope that helps.

First, if I have either of the two north direction up (north east up, or north west up) then the "top" row of regions will not draw.
Second, while it shows my map in the middle, it shows distant junk chunks that have no actual region file data.
Is it just me and my system? 10.5.8 PPC Java-5.
(And no, biome colors don't work for me either -- it thinks I'm running the server).
