I know youre about to put out a new version, so i dont know if this will be an issue in it or if i was just doing something wrong before, but anytime i was running this map my world would get corrupted slightly with dirt blocks spawning all over the place and even some floating ores and leaves. I tried searching about this issue and nothing came up, so either no one has run into it or i fail at searching.

This happened to me once back in November 2010, just after the Nether was released (on the world that I used to test AM / Nether support). I don't know what caused it, but I haven't seen it since then. I always assumed it was just some creepy Minecraft glitch.
Will this application run in tandem with Minecraft? I feel that it would be useless otherwise as Cartograph would be much better and an ingame automap was already shut down.
Yes, as soon as I release 0.6.1.2 which will be late tonight or tomorrow.
Also, the ingame map you are referring to is Simple Map. It was never shut down (where do people keep reading this?) -- the author put it on hold for a short time because he was not comfortable releasing modified Minecraft classes like everyone else was doing.
Hmm. Interesting idea. However, I do not think enough people would use such a feature to make it worth my time. Am I wrong?
My to-do list currently has a handful of minor tweaks and bugfixes, some mineral detection improvements, and a static map overhaul to make it stop crashing. All these things take higher priority. That said, I did put this on my to-do list.
Great idea, anybody running industrialcraft would like that feature added(well i would) great tool, hate running mc without it.
Hi all. It looks like Notch has finished updating Minecraft for now, so it should be safe to build a new version of AM. I will try and do that tonight.

um...as of now, minecraft updated 12 hours ago
I hope this doesn't set you back at all for the automap update ;_;
Edit:
...okay, now that I see my post time, you started working on it _after_ the 1.6.6 update. apparently the forum is manymany hours behind me. 1:22 AM forum time == 7:22PM local time for me.

Actually, I just "now" got home and started working on it.

You weren't, by any chance, using Zan's Minimap at this time? Because that mod causes the issue you'v describend if you activate threading in singleplayer.

Not working atm, and will not get updated in the near future, sorry.
BP - I'm really, really not a fan of modloader. Is there any way you could make available the files you included in the last version (but ya know, compatible for this version?) I'm not sure if that's a ton of work or not, or if it's something an end user could do (?) Either way, thanks for keeping AM up-to-date...it makes my gameplay a lot more fun :smile.gif:
Sorry. As much as I'd like to include that all the time, it is not really practical for me. AM updates after a Minecraft patch already tend to take from the time I get home from work until past when I'd like to be in bed. Creating and testing that mini-loader takes quite a bit of time sometimes, and it just isn't worth the trouble when Modloader will do the same thing.

All right, thanks for considering. Appreciate the work you do keeping it update in the first place. Cheers.
Sad that only 2 people, me and some other guy, touched the like button.
as always i love this map tool.
I have a question, would this work if I had minecraft in another place? I dont use my minecraft from the regular folder at %appdata%
It would, but only if you created an NTFS directory symbolic link in the appdata location which points to the location where you keep minecraft. See here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/NTFS_symbolic_link
Does this save the maps that are generated from SMP? If so, this is a major copyright violation. Builders hold the rights to anything they have built, since A) Minecraft claims no such rights in its terms and B..) US law and Swedish law both grant automatic copyright to individuals who express creative pictoral or sculptural etc. works in any concrete, viewable medium.
Reproduction of such works without permission, e.g. by copying them from intercepted packets, is illegal infringement.
So if this mod does not do that, please make sure it continues not to. If it does, that is a problem.

Have you tried Minecraft AutoMap?

Good thing php doesn't work in forum posts.
Have you tried Minecraft AutoMap?
I did a preview to make sure it wouldn't.
