Hi, loving the tool, but I'm having a hard time using it because you can only see one direction, top-down. I've run into several situations where I'm sure I've duplicated my in-game circuit exactly, but it operates differently. For example, if I designed a very-very compact N-input vertical AND that operates correctly in game. When I design it in the sim it does not. However, I can't determine if it's a fault of the sim, or of my recreation in the sim, as I have a hard time determining if what I created is actually the same as what I have in the game.
Therefore, as I arrive at my actual purpose for this post, is it possible to view the designs from more than one direction, if not at the same time then via some kind of toggle. What I'm hoping for is the quad-view you find in many model editing software. I think a feature like that, if not already available, would be really awesome. If nothing else maybe a simple height view so you could determine if your layers are setup the way you expect them to be set up.
The only other feature I could think of is when you control-hover a block to add a glow/highlight to the neighboring blocks which are providing it with power. There have been a few situations where blocks I hadn't expected nor anticipated to provide power were. I didn't test if this was correct behavior in game because I couldn't exactly determine the precise source outside of it was getting power from somewhere and I wasn't about to break down the circuit to investigate; I ended up just wiring far around the problem area.
Thanks for your consideration, and thanks to anyone else who could direct me to how to use/activate either of these features if they're already in the sim.

There are a few things missing, like for example Doors, and the opacity rendering fails a bit, but i think i will
fix that in the next time, if anyone is interrested in.
Hmm, I imagine that will work for now, but it would still be really great to be able to see the changes in real time. It doesn't even need a 3d or isometric view, though it would be nice ;-)
You know what'd be great MaPePeR? You think you could add a hotkey to your script to have it reload the current file it's rendering? Having to reopen everything for each change is kind of a pita. :sad.gif:
I suppose he stopped actively developing the program, but it would be nice if I could use a button other than middle mouse to change a torch's orientation (as that button is broken on the mouse I am using).
I might just find an action script to do this though (any suggestions :wink.gif:
Idea to add to the thing:
Add music blocks so we can test out the engine without having to spend all sorts of time on actually building!
Rollback Post to RevisionRollBack
Every time that someone on the support forums doesn't say anything after I tell them a possible solution, I assume that they are having too much fun enjoying their fixed Minecraft to reply.
it doesnt seem to include how torches invert the current. or maybe im not doing it right and also could u add a help menu with a legend or the names of the wires/door/switchs come up upon hovering.

That info is in the readme.
If you hold "Ctrl" while hovering over something, it tells you what it is.
Furthermore, if you click the middle button on the mouse (the scroll button), you can change a torch's orientation.
What do you mean? It's not a patch, so compatibility isn't an issue. Since the redstone rules haven't changed, there should be no problems using anything constructed in the sim (though it has a couple issues to iron out)

Did you hit the play button at the top? Otherwise no updates will be made and all torches will default to ON.

does it work with beta?
Yes, Redstone Simulator is independent from the game, so it will work regardless.
