Keep in mind that if you hold CTRL while hovering over a symbol you get a description for that symbol.
That should be in the readme if it isn't already.
Oh, aha! What you mean is "hover over the symbol that you've put on the grid and hold control down to see what it is". If you hover over the symbols you can choose from at the bottom of the program and hold down control, nothing happens. Thanks for the tip - the readme.txt doesn't mention the control key at all.
I also noticed that the version I have says 2.1 when I run it, even though I downloaded it from the download page that says I'm getting the 2.2 version. Sounds like Baezon forgot to update the release number in the program itself, an easy mistake to make. But, confusing - I downloaded it again just to be sure.
The 2.2 release definitely wasn’t 2.1 repackaged, but does indeed claim to be 2.1. I suspect U7 is comparing 2.2 to an earlier 2.2 download.
What do you mean to an earlier 2.2 download? I had downloaded what was listed in the OP as 2.2 minutes before making that post. It claims to be 2.1, yep. All files also have the exact same attributes.
Yeah, and I'd like to know why everyone "helping" in here is so arrogant and rude (and can't take their own on the return. quod erat demonstrandum)
But, if wishes were horses...
I was merely adding a second voice to the apparent issue of the 2.2 download on the front page having a 2.2 filename but yielding 2.1 files. (In case someone maybe wanted to.. you know.. investigate the problem)I just tried it again 5 minutes ago, and yes, the .jar says it's 2.1. Also, all files in the 2.2 download share identical properties to the 2.1 counterparts.
What's your problem? Now whether this be an issue on my part or not, why does it require your ****in' attitude?
Hi, I am trying to import a schematic made in your Redstone Simulator into my world using MCEdit. Sadly it is rotated the wrong way and MCEdit cannot rotate schematics with Redstone components properly (It leaves floating torches and buttons floating sideways). I was wondering if your tool had any way to rotate schematics as I really would like the schematic in my world as it is quite large and I couldn't be bothered building it.
Any Help would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks in Advance

Yes, I would at least like the ability to lay tracks and have them react to the red stone. I am working on a cart hub that will serve multiple spokes and I thought I had the controls out of the way, but I was wrong....
Horribly horribly wrong. :smile.gif:
Anyway, love the tool, I have found it very useful for mocking up designs not involving redstone.
I hope I haven't just missed an existing ability, but it seems like it would be nice to have the option to force the state of a torch to toggle. This would help in getting circuits out of unwanted states, and would not necessarily eliminate the ability to use timed torches as done in-game.
I keep trying to install this but every time i try to open it it says "could not find main class." does anyone know what im doing wrong, im extracting it to my desktop with winrar and then that so please help.
I notice you said you don't have any versions before 1.6... well, you're in luck I guess. I've been faithfully using 1.4 since it came out, never bothered to update until today. So in case you want it, here's MCRedstoneSim 1.4 (zip).
I just started using this to model the double-door thing I working on (mostly for tinkering, nothing fancy). Anyways, as I understand it, the simulator seems to have the behavior different from minecraft. I'll post some screens of minecraft next to the simulator so you can see the comparison.
The switch is on the outside of the door on the same block as one of the red torches:
Just FYI: the simulator doesn't properly simulate a monostable vibrator. When input is given the entire diagram flashes, rather than just the unstable loop portion. I.e. torches aren't burning out from too many state changes in rapid succession.

Apparently I'm a complete and utter jerk and come to this forum just like to make fun of people, be confrontational, and make your personal life miserable. If you think this is the case, JUST REPORT ME. Otherwise you're just going to get reported when you reply to my posts and point it out, because odds are, I was trying to be nice.
I tried this and it worked great for 15 minutes, then crashed. Gave me a see through screen and made my computer really slow, then black and not slow. Wouldn't close. Restarting now.
My understanding is that when you use the bridge the wires do not cross or affect each other. Well they do, just like if you made a cross.

The switch is on the outside of the door on the same block as one of the red torches:

From the inside, the switch it attached to the block that the righthand torch is on. This is in the "on" position:

And here is the "off" position:

Something about the door logic isn't right I think... Unless I'm using the simulator wrong...
Well, I just figured it out with trial and error. I'm not really sure what the normal way is... :tongue.gif:
Is there some kind of guide somewhere for how to do the basics?
