The world of Lichland has a long history that can fill many tomes, and whole libraries of scrolls can be filled with each piece of knowledge throughout this world. Lichland is a place of magic, where seven factions make war and peace. The setting of the world wouldn't be in existence however without a working mod to add these. The mod does four main things: Encourages roleplay, enhances combat, expands crafting, and provides new and challenging encounters.
The Roleplay System:
The Lichland Mod adds races to the game. Yes, you will be able to pick a nationality and gain special perks from it. There are four human nations, and two non-human races to pick from! Lichland will also add, in a later update, a skill progression and experience system. Build your character with all the abilities you want and level the ones you use up to get better. This is for both combat and crafting. While the mod is designed with massively multiplayer in mind, it is still compatible and fun in single player.
A Fixed Combat System:
Thanks to the modders Electroblob and Jabelar, I was able to create a realistic combat system. Vanilla weapons, armor, and tools have been GUTTED AND REMOVED!!! Instead, they are replaced by hundreds of new items fashioned out of countless metals and other materials. Every piece of armor has a unique quantity of defense, mobility, durability, and effectiveness against certain types of weapons. The weapons (a lot of pre 1.9 players will hate me) now have a new and improved attack timer system. Instead of having to time your clicks, we time it for you! Spam click all you want, but the attack will go through when the cooldown expires. Note that spam clicking also does not reset the timer. Each weapon also has a unique range! While spears have a reach of a whopping seven blocks, daggers only have a two block reach. Lastly, knockback varies depending on the weapon. While the spear may be able to reach far, it doesn't stagger opponents quite as well as a 10-pound steel Warhammer! There are over 30 types of weapons, each having access to all weapon materials. That is a lot of combinations.
Expanded Crafting:
Oh, here we go. This section is long because it also encompasses exploration. The first thing any player first downloading this mod will experience is the multitude of blocks added. Where is the stone and cobblestone at? Nowhere! We instead opted to use real stones that form in large patches. Marble, granite, limestone, and shale are four of 50 to name. There will be more trees and a couple extra biomes as well. If you spawn in a pink desert biome, leave as soon as possible. That, my friend, is the Flux Wastes where the hardest boss in the game lives: Lyititus the Lich. When you get on your feet with primitive tools, you can start to gather lighter metals. These, on top of wood and some of the stones, will help you get a workshop going. There are three main areas of crafting in this mod: Underground, Food, and Woodcrafting. There are twelve mundane metals, including iron and gold, that you can mine up. Each of these can all be melted down and combined to create alloys! Most combinations will result in metallic waste, though there are still uses for it. If you find out some of the more advanced ones, you can make some decent equipment. I will give you a combination for free: Bronze. Combine copper and tin to make this metal. Woodworking includes a broad carpentry system and better stuff to build with. Food is just that. There are plenty of farming and ranching opportunities in here, and you must, like in metal craft, explore recipes to create delicious dishes! Several other minor food features include a fixed baking system (you don't actually bake the bread in vanilla Minecraft?), cheesemaking, and brewing of alcoholic beverages (yes you can get drunk and get effects because of it).
New Challenges:
There are several mean mobs. You will encounter a lot of Goblins, Orcs, and Gnolls starting off, but will eventually progress to fighting undead creatures, hostile magical beings, dragons, and other fantastical threats. Just don't ignore the normal threats, such as wolf packs. They will eat your cattle and murder you if you aren't capable of defending yourself.
In a lower post, the mod's discord link is displayed. That doubles as the development room. We need staff! We will give credits to all staff and you will get premium access to the server this is going to be released on. Not all of these positions will be filled because there are a lot. Just apply below or DM me, telling me your alias, position you want to be, and qualifying factors. Clue: I am not really picky. If all of these positions do get filled, we should be rapidly progressing. We mainly need artists, as I got a sizable amount of code done already (Still much to do).

We mainly need artists, though some coders would be helpful. In addition, I plan to add painting and sculpting when every other feature is finished. If you wish to be a mod tester, please say below. Certain features of the mod are ready to be tested, though the art is lacking. Again, I suck at art so please someone good with paint and/or techne do some art/ modeling for me.

STONES now in construction! There are three types of real life rocks: Igneous, Sedimentary, and Metamorphic. I am adding 10 stones of each type to completely replace the generic and boring default stone of Minecraft.

We currently have been joined by another coder, socky110, who will be designing our unique ore generation system. Ore generation is going to be hyperrealistic, as we will have a custom world type that spawns different stones in large layers, just like in the real world. These stones will also have special spawning conditions, such as elevation, moisture, and heat. We still desperately need a texturer. Someone who can texture our blocks and items will be great. Socky110 is currently doing ore blocks, but we have so many more blocks we need textured, as well as items.
I use 1.7.10. I will not update because I can't. Most of my favorite mods aren't updated to any of the latest versions, and the ones that have don't have updates for any versions any between. Please do not tell me to update.
