im friends with the creator of the mod and he said it 1.7.10 and im pretty sure he said 1.10.2 too
sorry, but I'm going to choose just one version (1.7.10) it will be easier and better
also 1.10.2 already have Animania Mod, it is similar to my mod in some aspects, but it's a great mod, I recommend it
In case it wasn't obvious, I "stopped" with my last post. I made my point and said what I needed to say, you are the only one continuing at this point. Like I said, I hope you all prove me wrong.
Some of us CAN'T update, though. I can't because LOTR mod isn't updating past 1.7.10; the modder REFUSED. Unless the modder behind LOTR mod changes his mind, I won't be updating. I'm very sure that plenty of others also can't update for similar reasons. This and other reasons is why we refuse to update. Not to be rude, but I needed to put this out.
Not to be rude, but that's incredibly close minded of you to think that you need to stay behind for one mod. You're missing out on a whole lot of cool stuff because of it; I've dabbed in the LOTR mod before and it's not worth being the sole reason to stay on 1.7.10 for.

Well LOTR mod isn't the ONLY mod that I love that won't update. There's also Hatstand, Binnie's, and some of my other ones. I could not go without ANY of them.
I respect your opinion, but I disagree. I don't think having a preference for mods over updates is close-minded at all. It's simply a differing viewpoint.
It just never ends. After you are done assembling your ideal modpack, another MC version releases. Now its 1.12 and every time one of your core mods stays behind which breaks your modpack. I had perfect balance on 1.7.10, then moved up, turned to ****, and back down to 1.7.10.

I've been saying for ages that if Forge just made some version an official standalone, independent version of the official updates then this would no longer be an issue.
the flip side is, is this mod even going to develop? Animania is growing fast, they just recently completed the basic animals, now they have more of the horses developed Lol. honestly in my opinion the only mobs worth working on now is birds/exotic birds. knowing that exotic birds from the past version will not update anymore. Lol. but truthfully animania beat them to this WIP project Lol. just my opinion incase some people gets mad. LOL

Actually no, since Animania isn't for 1.7.10. This mod IS for 1.7.10. Also, just my opinion of course, the models here are better.
I think that if this mod wants to stay active and being actually used, it needs to move to 1.11.2. Alot of mods I know are planning to move to it.
Also it has been inactive for quite some time, I havent been on the forums since september 2016, and I havent heard of any news from the creators.
No it doesn't. There are plenty of people like me who still play 1.7.10. Plus, not all mods are planning to move. LOTR mod, for one, WON'T move.
Also, there has been some activity. Most importantly, there has been an alpha preview on Mar 4, 2017.
This is a great mod with loads of potential and a ton of work being put into it, don't give up hope now just because development is a bit slower than anticipated.
Look, almost all the popular mods are moving to 1.11.2, Only a few mods, like this and as you said the LOTR mod, are staying. People will flock to newer 1.11.2 mods, leaving this version in the dust. Yes, there will be some people who will remain to play 1.7.10, but that will be a very slim amount of the minecraft modding community. Its best if the mod transitioned to 1.11.2.
Also, was this preview of a model, or a mob ingame? If its the latter, then well done. If not, then there is already a mod taking this ones spotlight, better yet, its on a recently released forge version, 1.11.2, and has functioning ai.
Also, I understand how tedious development can be, but this other mod which has just came out of the blue and has functioning ai and almost all the same features, AND had a release date, on febuary this year, where as this mods page was made in august 2016, and had models and other resources from bovinecraft. It took under a year for said mod to be developed, while this mod had a 6 month headstart to said mod, not to mention had stuff from bovinecraft, yet still has to make any kind of release.
You should consider that this mod is either dying or dead, because the creators havent made a post since march, and this other mod already has functioning ai in game. Maybe I could be wrong, which I hope I am, but just remember that this mod has barely made much progress in coding, and is becoming outdated.
The modder EXPLICITLY said that he will NOT transition as 1.7.10 is his favorite version. Based on my past experiences, once a modder makes up their mind, they won't change it. Also, what are those 1.11.2 mods gonna do when something like Minecraft 1.51.5 comes out? Not to be rude, but to me, updating for the sole reason of updating seems quite pointless in the longshot. I'd much rather play a functional, modded 1.7.10 game than keep having to update constantly and lose my best mods. :/
The preview was indeed of a mob ingame, spawn eggs in inventory and all. It's here if you wanna see it.
The preview is pretty cool, but the reason why they update is so people can have access to the newest features and stuff, I mean, imagine if we had all stayed back on 1.4.7 because of mods not wanting to update? We wouldnt have as great features, and increased mod support.
Also, 1.11.2 has more mobs than 1.7.10, and by updating it to said version, if a mod wanted to update to a much higher version, i.e if someone made a mod way back in 1.4.7 and wanted to directly port it to 1.11.2, it would take ages, while a mod in 1.10.2, would easily be able to make the small jump to 1.11.2. And Mojang is increasing its mod support more and more, eventually we probably wont need to install forge, as it could become intergrated with the normal Minecraft launcher and version. And by updating, coding would become much more easier, as more features and stuff are ingame.
Vanilla's new mobs are nothing when compared to stuff like LOTR mod. I don't care about the dumb parrots and polar bears, I have those already with much better models from my mods. I definitely don't care about the elytra, which is useless to a creative player like me.
I respect your opinion, but as I've stated to so many people before, I will not change mine. Mods > updates.
Still, the mods probably going to die out. More mods are being produced on the newer versions because of the new features allowing for easier coding, while 1.7s mod production/updates are starting to slow down.
Completed mods don't die out, they simply become static.
Also, in the first sentence you mean "mod's" not "mods".
The man said it's for 1.7.10 and people keep insisting lol. I don't see arrogance, I see him getting aggravated by people not listening. Details are irrelevant. If it's for 1.7.10, then for 1.7.10 it is.
I don't think 1.7.10 will become irrelevant yet. 1.7.10 has double the amount of mods available to players than any other version. Maybe a little into the future it will be as it's becoming increasingly easier to port mods after the 1.9 updates. The day nears but it's not quite there yet.

k
cyan please stop with this. we are not make it for 1.10

so is this inactive or...
He's working on it. Give him time.
I think he should release a beta with what is already added, maybe one with the bovine craft mobs
maybe a beta with the mobs that have photos
Animania rekt this Year or so talked about mod lol
Lol, animania is essentially what everyone wants from a farm animal mod. This is a lost cause in my opinion.
